Trailer Round-Up: WTF!, BANG BANG BABY, THE LAST HOUSE, MIDNIGHT SPECIAL, and A MONSTER CALLS.

Sorry for the lack of news and updates lately gang. The holiday season is upon us and work is kicking my butt, plus I've gotten back into retro gaming and am currently juggling numerous TV shows (including ASH VS. EVIL DEAD, THE WALKING DEAD, and JESSICA JONES). So to play a bit of catch-up, here are five trailers for upcoming genre films, ranging from fantastical Hollywood blockbusters, to indie Horror flicks!

TRAILER #1: BANG BANG BABY
Let's kick things off with a sci-fi musical! Stepphy (Jane Levy) dreams of running away to become a starlet of stage and screen, even more-so when teen heartthrob Bobby Shore's car breaks down in her hometown. But when a purple gas leaks from the local chemical plant, spontaneous mutations break out and threaten Stepphy's hopes for stardom! What's a girl to do?! BANG BANG BABY is now available on all Video On Demand services - scope it out!

TRAILER #2: THE LAST HOUSE
Kevin Smith regular Jason Mewes is in a race against time to rescue his girlfriend from a trio of escaped mental patients in this new indie thriller. Be sure to keep an eye out for SLEEPAWAY CAMP's very own Felissa Rose in the trailer! THE LAST HOUSE is available on DVD and VOID tomorrow!

TRAILER #3: MIDNIGHT SPECIAL
Due out in theaters on March 18th, 2016, this new sci-fi flick follows a dad on the run from authorities because his son has special (i.e. dangerous) powers. Kind of reminds me of FIRESTARTER now that I think of it. Starring Mark "Zod" Shannon, Kirsten Dunst, Sam Shepard, et al.

TRAILER #4: A MONSTER CALLS
In the tradition of PAN'S LABYRINTH (minus all the horrifying elements) comes A MONSTER CALLS, in which a young boy learns to cope with his mother's terminal illness by seeking out and befriending(?) a giant tree monster (voiced by Liam Neeson). This one is due out on October 14th, of next year, so I'm a little surprised that they've already released a teaser for it ten months early. If anything though, I am now curious about seeing the "Neeson Ent" in action.

TRAILER #5: WTF!
Three years after surviving a massacre, Rachel decides to head to a secluded cabin with some friends for a weekend of drinking and debauchery. Naturally, history begins to repeat itself as the partying "teens" begin dying off one by one. WTF! is due out sometime in 2016 on DVD and VOD!

That's all I've got for you today! Check back again soon for more movie trailers, news, and more!

Trailer Round-Up: OVER YOUR DEAD BODY, HORROR ICON - INSIDE MICHAEL'S MASK, and CATCH 'EM ALL, KILL 'EM ALL!

Greetings everyone! Vault Master here with another trio of trailers for your perusing pleasure! This time around we have a bizarre Horror tale from director Takashi Miike, a documentary about the first actor to portray the legendary slasher villain Michael Myers, and a parody trailer involving murderous Pokemon! Your mind won't believe what your eyes are telling you is true!

TRAILER #1: OVER YOUR DEAD BODY
I haven't watched a lot of Takashi Miike flicks (maybe a half-dozen or so), but I've enjoyed the few I have seen. One of his most recent efforts is OVER YOUR DEAD BODY, a weird, reality-bending supernatural tale. It's a story of love, jealousy, and revenge on the set of a play that is based upon legend. Honestly, this doesn't look like my cup of tea, so I think I'll hold out for Miike's YAKUZA APOCALYPSE instead.

TRAILER #2: HORROR ICON - INSIDE MICHAEL'S MASK
Filmmakers David Langill and Jordan Pacheco are currently working on a documentary about the actor who first portrayed Michael Myers on film: Tony Moran. This doc features interviews with Moran, as well as other genre vets like Felissa Rose, Debbie Rochon, Ernie Hudson, Dee Wallace, P.J. Soles, and many others! HORROR ICON: INSIDE MICHAEL'S MASK is set to debut in October 2016!

TRAILER #3: CATCH 'EM ALL, KILL 'EM ALL
From the guys that brought you PAPERBOY 3: THE HARD WAY, comes this parody trailer that mashes up Pokemon and slasher cinema! When a mysterious Pokeball is unlocked, the evil Jigglypuff escapes and goes on a violent killing spree! Enjoy this faux trailer from MIDNIGHT SHOW creator Newt Wallen, and be sure to share it with a friend!

That's it for tonight gang! Check back again soon for more trailers, news, and more!

Full specs & extras for Scream Factory's THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE Blu-ray!

THE B-MOVIE CLASSIC, "THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE," IS NOW PART OF SCREAM FACTORY'S GROWING CATALOG, AND WILL BE AVAILABLE ON DECEMBER 22ND - JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS!

My first viewing of THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE, was on Mystery Science Theater 3000, during the first episode of Season 5. It has since become a minor favorite of mine.

Film Synopsis: When Dr. Bill Cortner loses his sweetheart, Jan, in a car accident, he refuses to give up hope for her life. Scooping up her decapitated head, he brings it back to the lab for resuscitation. But keeping her head alive is one thing – finding her a new body is quite another.

So while the mad doctor is out looking for spare parts, she's stuck at home going out of her mind – literally! And nothing will stop her from getting revenge on the man who is keeping her as a trophy girlfriend!

Directed by Joseph Green, this campy sci-fi/horror classic explores the strange world of transplants, cloning and mutant regeneration! THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE stars Herb Evers (ESCAPE FROM THE PLANET OF THE APES, 1971), Virginia Leith (Stanley Kubrick’s FEAR AND DESIRE) and Leslie Daniel (JOHNNY YUMA).

Disc Specs:
Color | Not Rated | 81 minutes | Region A
Video - 1080p Widescreen (1.66:1)
Audio - ? (Most likely 2.0 Mono)

Special Features:
  • NEW High Definition (1080p) transfer from the negative – restored to its uncut version (1.66:1)
  • Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode - THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN’T DIE (in Standard Definition)
  • NEW Audio Commentary with film historian and author Steve Haberman and writer Tony Sasso.
  • Alternate Scene from the International Cut!
  • Theatrical Trailer
  • Still Gallery
Wowsers! This is far more love than I ever expected THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE to receive from any distribution company! And the fact that the MST3K episode is included as an extra automatically makes this a must-own in my book!

Don't lose your head - Order this release now from AMAZON.COM, or directly from SHOUT! FACTORY! If you choose the latter, your disc will show up TWO WEEKS EARLY!
