Umbrella Entertainment's October Genre Releases!

Continuing their track record of excellence, Umbrella Entertainment has a solid lineup of new DVDs & Blu-ray discs that will make your mouth water! They are giving the awesome Ozploitation documentary NOT QUITE HOLLYWOOD its worldwide Blu-ray debut, unveiling a new Christmas-themed tale of terror starring Dee Wallace called RED CHRISTMAS, giving Australia its first ever Blu-ray of Rob Zombie's THE DEVIL'S REJECTS, and (most importantly to me) releasing an all new Blu-ray of STEPHEN KING'S CAT'S EYE! I'm excited! Are you excited?! Well then let's take a closer look at these upcoming titles together, shall we?!

the Firefly Family as they go on a rampage of senseless slaughter, pursued by a pair of sadistic bounty hunters and an outlaw sheriff hell bent on revenge.

Synopsis: Rene Laloux's mesmerising sci-fi animated feature won the Grand Prix at the 1973 Cannes Film Festival, and is a landmark of European animation. Set in a distant world, the FANTASTIC PLANET, where tiny humans, or Oms, are kept as pets by large alien creatures, the Draags, the film travels through a strange and beautiful world. Soon, one Om absconds with a Draag knowledge device, using the tool to foment a wild Om uprising against his captors.

Inspired by the Russsian invasion of Czechoslovakia in the late '60s, Laloux's breathtaking vision immediately drew comparisons to Swift's Gulliver's Travels and PLANET OF THE APES. Today, the film can be seen to prefigure much of the work of Hayao Miyazaki (PRINCESS MONONOKE, SPIRITED AWAY) due to its political and social concerns, epic imagination and groundbreaking animation techniques.

Synopsis: Matriarch Diane (Dee Wallace) has invited her children to celebrate one last Christmas in their family home. Amid celebrations and domestic drama, they receive a visit from a mysterious stranger. Disfigured and cloaked, they feel sorry for him until they discover his extreme religious motives and anti abortion message.

Diane orders him to leave unaware he is her son. Twenty years ago she had an abortion and on that day a religious zealot bombed the clinic. Her still-living fetus was taken and raised by the bomber. After being rejected by his mother once again when all he wanted was love, he seeks vengeance and kills the family who cast him out.

From award-winning director, Craig Anderson, comes his feature debut. Starring notable actor and scream queen Dee Wallace, RED CHRISTMAS is a character-driven horror, which tackles the abortion debate from multiple angles.

Synopsis: A wandering supernatural feline's adventures provide the linking story for STEPHEN KING'S CAT'S EYE, a dead on trilogy scripted by King and directed by Lewis Teague (CUJO).

The staff at Quitters Incorporated promises to help nicotine fiend Dick Morrison (James Woods) kick the habit. If not, someone in Morrison's household might get smoked... because QI is run by a very persuasive mob family.

Next, a luckless gambler (Robert Hayes) is forced into a bet involving a stroll around a building - on the five-inch ledge encircling the 30th floor. Finally, our wayfarer kitty rescues a schoolgirl (young Drew Barrymore) from a vile, doll-sized troll.

Fan of the works of Stephen King will have fun finding the many references to his other projects throughout the film!
