No One Said Surviving High School Would Be Easy - CUTTING CLASS Arrives on 4K UHD!

ON JANUARY 30TH, CUTTING CLASS BECOMES THE THIRD ADDITION TO MVD'S 4K LASERVISION COLLECTION!

I missed out on CUTTING CLASS when Vinegar Syndrome released it back in 2018, but did manage to see it in 35mm at The Mahoning Drive-In Theater during one of their big weekend events! (I also got to meet Jill Schoelen and have her sign a D.C. CAB mini poster! She was a total sweetheart!) While the movie didn't exactly blow me away, I had a fun time with it and would probably give it another go.

And now I'll have the chance to do so thanks to the efforts of MVD, who are releasing this title as part of their ongoing LaserVision Collection, which also currently includes SWAMP THING and GHOULIES! If you missed out on the previous Vinegar Syndrome release, then you'll definitely want to snap this one up. But if you already VinSyn's disc, will you want this new release instead/as well? Let's take a quick glance at what this new 4K offers up before you spend any money!

Synopsis: High school can be murder. Just ask Paula (Jill Schoelen - THE STEPFATHER, POPCORN). Her overprotective father disappears during a weekend hunting trip. She's being romantically pursued by Brian Woods (Donovan Leitch - THE BLOB '88), a creepy classmate who recently graduated from a mental institution. Her jealous jock boyfriend Dwight (Brad Pitt - MONEYBALL, WORLD WAR Z) is looking for any reason to release his juvenile rage.

The lecherous school principle Mr. Dante (Roddy McDowall - FRIGHT NIGHT, CLASS OF 1984) is after her student body, and her friends and teachers are rapidly falling victim to a silent, shadowy mass-murder. As the body count rises, Paula begins to suspect that any one of her reckless suitors could be the twisted killer. But unless she learns his identity soon, her high school education will quickly come to a nasty end.

On October 30th, Travel Back in Time With Brad Pitt in 12 MONKEYS!

ARROW VIDEO GIVES TERRY GILLIAM'S SCI-FI CLASSIC A NEW COLLECTOR'S EDITION
BLU-RAY!

UPDATE (10/10/2018): The street date for this title has been pushed back until October 30th!

While I have enjoyed many of Terry Gilliam's films (including MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL, JABBERWOCKY, and THE ADVENTURES OF BARON MUNCHAUSEN) I must admit that I've failed to see 12 MONKEYS since its release back in 1995. It's definitely on my "list" (i.e. an ever-expanding index of films I need to watch), but the opportunity to sit down and watch it has never presented itself. Now it looks like I'll have to remedy that now that Arrow's given this film some much-needed TLC.

Synopsis: Following the commercial and critical success of THE FISHER KING, Terry Gilliam's next feature would turn to science fiction and a screenplay by Janet and David Peoples (BLADE RUNNER, UNFORGIVEN) inspired by Chris Marker's classic short film La Jetée. In 1996, a deadly virus is unleashed by a group calling themselves the "Army of the Twelve Monkeys," destroying much of the world's population and forcing survivors underground.

In 2035, prisoner James Cole (Bruce Willis - DIE HARD) is chosen to go back in time and help scientists in their search for a cure. Featuring an Oscar-nominated turn by Brad Pitt (FIGHT CLUB) as mental patient Jeffrey Goines, 12 MONKEYS would become Gilliam's most successful film and is now widely regarded as a sci-fi classic.

Disc Specs:
Rated R | Color | 129 minutes | Region A
Video - 1080p Widescreen (1.85:1)
