Rifftrax Live scares up some laughs with Carnival of Souls this Halloween!

On October 27th, Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett, will host a live Halloween-themed extravaganza at the Belcourt Theater in Nashville, Tennessee! But thanks to modern technology, you don't have to be there to enjoy the show! On October 27th at 8:00PM EST, the live riffing of CARNIVAL OF SOULS will be broadcast to 500 screens across America, pitting the three comedians against an extremely slow-burn supernatural classic.

Tickets are on sale now (order them HERE), so get yours and don't miss out on a fun night of terror-ific movie riffing! And heck, if you're too busy on the 27th to go, then feel free to attend the rebroadcast of this Rifftrax Live event on Monday, October 31st! It's definitely a fun way to spend Halloween!!!

Also, one more item of import regarding Rifftrax: They have recorded an all new feature-length commentary for ROAD HOUSE that is now available! Check out the sample below:

Rifftrax Live battles Toho's MOTHRA tomorrow night!

Fans of classic Japanese monster flicks and movie riffing rejoice, for Rifftrax Live battles MOTHRA tomorrow night in theaters across the United States! (With a rebroadcast on August 23rd!) Michael J. Nelson, Bill Corbett, and Kevin Murphy will team up to take jabs at this classic kaiju flick, which features Toho's other famous mon-star!

For the uninitiated, MOTHRA is a 1961 Japanese epic, where explorers investigate the nuked remains of Infant Island. They are startled to find that the island is actually still inhabited, and filled with numerous mutations caused by radiation poisoning. Also, the islanders, led by two tiny priestesses, worship a giant insect god named Mothra!

But when the tiny "Shobijin" are kidnapped and taken back to Japan to be exploited, Mothra hatches from an egg and makes a beeline for the Land of the Rising Sun. The larvae eventually morphs into her final insect form, and destroys everything in her path as she seeks out the "twin fairies." Will the Japanese Self-Defense Forces be able to stop MOTHRA?!

This Rifftrax Live show begins at 8:00 PM EST and will be streaming live to various movie theaters. To find out if it's playing near you, and to snag yourself tickets, CLICK HERE!

Sadly I'm missing out on this show (it sucks that they're always broadcast on Thursdays!), so if any of you Vault Dwellers attend, please let me know how it was. And most definitely share your favorite moments from the film (and your favorite jokes) in the comments below!

MST3K Live Reunion on June 28th + Rifftrax's THE LAST SHARK commentary now available!

On Tuesday, June 28th, three generations of Mystery Science Theater alumni will be coming together for a reunion show! Original cast members Joel Hodgson (who pretty much single-handedly created the show), Kevin Murphy (Tom Servo), Trace Beaulieu (the original Crow T. Robot & Dr. Clayton Forrester), and Frank Conniff (TV's Frank), will team with Michael J. Nelson, Bill Corbett (2nd gen Crow T. Robot), Mary Joe Pehl (Pearl Forrester), Bridget Nelson, and newcomer Jonah Ray for a once in a lifetime event! Tickets for the live event in Minneapolis are sold out at this point, but the show will be broadcast to hundreds of movie theaters across the country the same night!

I have no idea what is in store for us fans, but I wouldn't be shocked if there was some live-riffing on some shorts and maybe even a secret feature film. I guess we'll all find out eventually, as this show will be rebroadcast on July 12th, and eventually be available for purchase.  Scope out the teaser trailer below and get excited fellow MSTies!

And speaking of movie riffing, Rifftrax just released a new commentary for the long-lost JAWS rip-off THE LAST SHARK (a.k.a. GREAT WHITE). Banned from U.S. theaters shortly after its brief theatrical run (thanks to Universal Pictures), THE LAST SHARK has never seen a legitimate wide release. But now it is available with an all new and (most likely) hilarious commentary featuring Bill Corbett, Kevin Murphy, and Michael J. Nelson! You can DOWNLOAD OR STREAM IT NOW for $9.99, but before you spend your money, WATCH THE PREVIEW!

It's a good time to be an MST3K / Rifftrax fan Vault Dwellers, so indulge yourselves! And while you wait for June 28th (or July 12th) to come around, and/or wait to download THE LAST SHARK, then give the MST3K-themed Vault-Cast a listen to help get you in the mood!
