Shout Select unleashes Collector's Edition Blu-rays of GAME OF DEATH and RETURN OF THE DRAGON!

GAME OF DEATH and RETURN OF THE DRAGON are my least favorite Bruce Lee flicks, but there's still plenty to love in each. Bruce's life or death struggle against Chuck Norris in Rome's Colosseum, and his face-off against long-limbed NBA star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, are legendary! And now these sequences, and more, are all fully restored in 4K! Thanks Shout Select!

GAME OF DEATH Synopsis: Billy Lo (Bruce Lee) is a young kung fu star with a promising career. As the leader of a syndicate known for its exploitation of entertainers, Dr. Land (Dean Jagger) jumps at the chance to capitalize on Billy's status and that of his singer girlfriend (Coleen Camp).

Refusing to sign with Land, Billy's marital arts mastery is put to the test when he is brutally harassed by Land's men. In a stunning showdown, Billy must take on a group of martial arts masters in the final showdown. Tragically, Bruce Lee passed away during the production of the film. See this martial arts legend in his last role!

I haven't seen WILLARD, or its sequel BEN in a very long time, as they've been out of print. But now, thanks to those magnificent folks at Scream Factory, I can now enjoy both films in glorious high-definition! I am SO adding these to my personal movie collection alongside both FOOD OF THE GODS films, DEADLY EYES, and RATS: NIGHT OF TERROR!

WILLARD Synopsis: Willard Stiles (Bruce Davison, INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 4) is a young man with a big problem. He lives alone in a crumbling house with his ailing mother (Elsa Lanchester, Arnold, BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN). His boss, Al Martin (Ernest Borgnine, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, THE WILD BUNCH) is a vulgar, cruel man who stole his business from Willard's father and is now working Willard to death at his factory job.

Lonely, depressed and isolated, Willard is on the verge of a breakdown when he makes a new friend: Ben, one of the many rats who inhabit his dilapidated home. Not only can Willard communicate with the rodent, but he can actually command him to do his bidding. Using Ben and his furry friends as instruments of retaliation, Willard commands his pets to carry out his vengeance…

Gus Van Sant's remake of PSYCHO now available on Blu-ray from Scream Factory!

It's been so very long since I've seen the original PSYCHO or its sequels, and never once have I laid eyes upon Gus Van Sant's remake. However, being the completionist that I am, I'll probably pick this disc up one day and finally watch this "shot-for-shot" redo to make some comparisons.

Synopsis: Criminal on the run, Marion Crane (Anne Heche) takes refuge at the motel operated by Norman Bates (Vince Vaughn) – a troubled man whose victims encounter a grisly fate at the hands of his "mother." Marion soon becomes the next victim and her disappearance prompts inquiries from her sister (Julianne Moore) and a private investigator (William H. Macy). They both soon discover the morbid bond linking Norman to his mysterious "mother" at the Bates Motel. Relive the terror in acclaimed director Gus Van Sant's all-new version of Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece of suspense... PSYCHO.

Greetings Vault Dwellers and welcome to another edition of our (sometimes weekly) Trailer Round-Ups! This week we take a look at four upcoming films and one NetFlix series that are sure to please! The epic first entry into a Stephen King-penned saga, a superhero team-up, a post-pandemic paranoia thriller, a period piece murder mystery, and alien abductions are all par for the course this time around. Let's watch some trailers, shall we?!

Release Date: August 4, 2017

Languishing in pre-production hell for years, Stephen King's THE DARK TOWER is finally coming out! Roughly adapted from book one ("The Gunslinger"), this film follows the exploits of Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), a gunslinger who is the "last of the line of Eld." He is on a quest to track down and kill "The Man in Black" (Matthew McConaughey as an evil wizard, not Johnny Cash), before he can fulfill his dark mission of destroying "The Dark Tower," thus ending all of existence across multiple worlds and universes.

I think it looks cool (really digging the use of Morricone's "60 Seconds to What"), and I for one am ready to give it a chance, especially since it picks up where King's final book left off! The only major question left on my mind now is.... will they introduce "Oy" in this film!

Release Date: August 18, 2017

NetFlix wowed Marvel fans with above average adaptations of DAREDEVIL, JESSICA JONES, and LUKE CAGE (and disappointed us all with IRON FIST), and now look to up the ante further with THE DEFENDERS! With "The Hand" growing in power and attempting to take over New York City, four heroes must band together and fight to save the Big Apple! Here's hoping that they improve greatly upon the character off Danny Rand in this series, and maybe even have The Punisher make a guest appearance!

Release Date: June 9, 2017

In the wake of some sort of pandemic or extinction-level event, a family living in a secluded woodland sanctuary invite another desperate family to live with them. But there are rules of course, particularly keep the door locked and never go outside at night. Then one night, the main entrance to the house is found wide open, and soon paranoia begins to reign supreme as everyone turns on each other. Is there an actual illness? Or is something more diabolical at work? I guess we'll find out in a month!

Release Date: September 1, 2017 (UK), September 7, 2017 (In Germany), U.S. release date TBA.

Bill Nighy stars as Inspector Kildare of Scotland Yard, in this new British Horror tale! Long before Jack the Ripper stalked the streets of London, another nightmarish figure struck fear into the hearts of the British people: The so-called LIMEHOUSE GOLEM. After a series of grisly and unsolved murders, Inspector Kildare arrives to seek out the villain and stop their nocturnal reign of terror! You lucky folks in Europe get to enjoy this in September, but it seems like us 'Muricans may be waiting a bit longer! Dang it!

Release Date: June 2, 2017

In classic Horror movie fashion, five friends head to a secluded cabin to party it up for a weekend. But instead of demons, zombies, or other supernatural fiends, they instead encounter alien invaders. These visitors from another planet are none too friendly, but luckily a crazy hunter played by Wesley Snipes was prepare for this very scenario, and shows up to kick some E.T. ass!

That's all I've got for you today Vault Dwellers, but be sure to check back again soon for more trailer and movie news right here at The B-Movie News Vault!

Available May 16th: Walter Hill's STREETS OF FIRE gets the royal treatment from Shout Select!

A friend of mine discovered STREETS OF FIRE about a decade ago and foisted it upon me. While I dug parts of it, overall I wasn't a huge fan. However, now that its gotten some major love from Shout Select, I'm ready to give this "Rock N' Roll Fable" another shot.

Synopsis: Amid a brooding rock & roll landscape, the Bombers motorcycle gang, led by the vicious Raven Shaddock (Willem Dafoe, BOONDOCK SAINTS, JOHN WICK), kidnap diva Ellen Aim (Diane Lane, MAN OF STEEL). Her hope for rescue lies with unlikely heroes: soldier of fortune Tom Cody (Michael Paré, BAD MOON) and his sidekick, the two-fisted beer-guzzling McCoy (Amy Madigan, THE DARK HALF). Joined by Ellen's manager, Billy Fish (Rick Moranis, GHOSTBUSTERS), the trio plunges headfirst into a world of rain-splattered streets, hot cars, and deadly assassins.

This cult favorite features a razor-sharp cast and original songs written by Jim Steinman, Stevie Nicks, Tom Petty and Ry Cooder and performed by The Blasters and The Fixx.
