Scream Factory Salutes Romero's DAY OF THE DEAD with a New 4K Restoration!!!

ROMERO'S FORMERLY UNDERAPPRECIATED ZOMBIE CLASSIC GETS AN INCREDIBLE 4K RELEASE ON JUNE 16TH!

You know, it's funny: A few months ago I was lamenting that Scream Factory's best days were seemingly behind them, as they've been focusing their efforts on putting out 4K UHDs of titles that were already in their catalog. (There's also been a lot of steelbook re-releases too! Ugh!)

And then they announced a 40th Anniversary Collector's Edition of DAY OF THE DEAD, a 4K UHD of a title that was already in their catalog...... and TOTALLY REDEEMED THEMSELVES!

Somehow the long-lost original interpositive for DAY OF THE DEAD was discovered last year by Radial Entertainment's Jeff Roland, leading to one of the most highly-anticipated physical media titles of 2026! My fellow collectors, the time is nigh to make a necessary 4K upgrade! But first, let us bask in the glow of the wonderful details of this upcoming 4-disc Collector's Edition!

Synopsis: In George A. Romero's third film in the saga of the undead, a small group of scientists and soldiers take refuge in an underground missile silo as they struggle to control the flesh-eating horror that walks the Earth above. But as tensions within the base reach their breaking-point, will the final battle for the future be fought among the living or have they forever unleashed the hunger of the dead?

Widely regarded as one of the most influential horror films ever made, DAY OF THE DEAD is the triumphant conclusion to George A. Romero's landmark Dead trilogy — the series that defined the modern zombie genre and forever changed the face of horror filmmaking.

The film stars Lori Cardille as the determined scientist Dr. Sarah Bowman, alongside Terry Alexander, Joseph Pilato as the menacing Captain Rhodes, Richard Liberty, Jarlath Conroy, and Sherman Howard — whose portrayal of the domesticated zombie Bub remains one of the most iconic performances in horror history. Special make-up effects by the legendary Tom Savini pushed the boundaries of practical effects and set a new standard for the genre.

Over the years I've gone back and forth on which of Romero's classic zombie films I enjoy the most: NIGHT, DAWN, or DAY?! While I'm still inclined to choose DAWN as my absolute favorite, I respect the hell out of the eerie, and highly influential 1968 original, and have really come to love the third chapter in Romero's beloved zombie series!

I'm legitimately excited for Scream Factory's upcoming 4K restoration of, what I used to (foolishly) believe, was the weakest entry in the LIVING DEAD franchise! With its wealth of extras and cool packaging, you better believe that I'm going to make certain that this Collector's Edition of DAY OF THE DEAD will be proudly displayed upon a shelf, right next to my deluxe 4K (Second Sight) release of DAWN! I just need to pre-order it ASAP!

Speaking of which.... the new DAY will dawn on Tuesday, June 16th, and it will likely cost you somewhere between $40 - $50! So be like me and pre-order this awesome set right now from AMAZON, BULL MOOSE, DIABOLIK DVD, GRUV, or ORBIT DVD!

When There's No More Room in Hell, the Dead Will Walk the Earth - Zach Snyder's DAWN OF THE DEAD comes to 4K UHD in early 2023!

Artwork for Scream Factory's Collector's Edition 4K UHD of DAWN OF THE DEAD (2004)!
SCREAM FACTORY CONTINUES THEIR MARATHON OF DOUBLE DIPS WITH THE 4K RELEASE OF THE "DAWN OF THE DEAD" REMAKE!

I keep saying it, and others seem to agree - Scream Factory is the second coming of Anchor Bay! (Ha!) Though they have continued to release surprise titles (most recently THE HOT BOX and THE WARRIOR AND THE SORCERESS), cool Horror collectibles, and modern fright favorites to Blu-ray and 4K disc (e.g. FREAKY), a huge part of Shout!/Scream's current business model is getting collectors to use their hard-earned cash to buy the same titles again and again! I mean it was inevitable that Scream Factory would eventually embrace the 4K UHD format, but damn, they could at least sweeten the deal by including some new extras along with the new transfer, right?!

That all being said, let's take a look at Scream's upcoming 4K release of the James Gunn-penned/Zach Snyder-directed DAWN OF THE DEAD remake that is way better than it has any right to be! If you don't already own it, then you may want to hold out for this release. And if you do already own it.... you are probably breaking into a cold sweat right now and starting the process of talking yourself into ordering the 4K, even though you just got the Collector's Edition Blu-ray during the last Shocktober sale....

    Synopsis:
Heart-pounding action and bone-chilling thrills power this edgy and frightening remake of George A. Romero's apocalyptic horror classic starring Ving Rhames (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: VOL. 2), Sarah Polley (SPLICE), Jake Weber (WENDIGO), Mekhi Phifer (DIVERGENT), and Ty Burrell (Modern Family).

From visionary filmmaker Zack Snyder (300, ARMY OF THE DEAD, JUSTICE LEAGUE), comes a nightmarish vision where society is endangered by a mysterious virus that turns people into mindless, flesh-eating zombies, and a handful of survivors must wage a desperate, last-stand battle to stay alive ... and human!

The 4K Collector's Edition of DAWN OF THE DEAD is tentatively scheduled for release on Tuesday, January 31st of next year, and should cost between $30 - $36! Again, if you do not already own this movie, I'd recommend taking the plunge on this 3-disc set since it is, more or less, (currently) the definitive release for this film. For those of you who already own the previous Blu-ray release, well... the choice to upgrade is entirely up to you! Once your mind is made up, you may pre-order yourself a copy right this very minute at AMAZON, BULL MOOSE, DIABOLIK DVD, or directly from SHOUT! FACTORY, which will net you an exclusive poster (while supplies last)!

VCI Enters the 4K Fray With a 50th Anniversary Release of CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS!

Cover art for VCI's new 4K release of CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS!

ON DECEMBER 6TH, YOU CAN WATCH ORVILLE'S "COMING OUT PARTY" IN GLORIOUS ULTRA HIGH-DEFINITION!

Bob Clark had a pretty eclectic career and made films ranging from raunchy teen sex comedies (PORKY'S and PORKY'S II: THE NEXT DAY), to Horror classics (DEATHDREAM and BLACK CHRISTMAS), to Christmas essentials (A CHRISTMAS STORY), to kids movies (BABY GENIUSES), and even gender-bending crime movies (SHE-MAN: A STORY OF FIXATION).

But today we're going to focus on his first true feature-length film, 1972's CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS, which is getting a new 50th anniversary Blu-ray and 4K UHD release from VCI in November! While not in my "zombie top ten," I do enjoy this low-budget horror romp and count myself lucky to have seen it in 35mm!

Synopsis: Five young kinky actors and their artistic director come to a desolate and nearly forgotten burial island, complete with a morbid history of MURDER, RAPE, CURSES and DEMONS. Alan (Alan Ormsby), the brilliant but bizarre Director of the company, has brought them to this foreboding place to dabble in witchcraft; specifically to dig up a fresh corpse and use it in a ritual ceremony which is supposed to raise the dead from their graves.

It seems as though Alan has really gathered his "children" here, only to play a practical joke on them and then to party the rest of the night away. However, the joke's on Alan. His bizarre ritual ceremony really does raise the dead from their graves... only they're in no mood to party!

    Disc Specs:
    Rated PG | Color | 87 & 76 minutes | Region Free
    Video - 2160p Widescreen (1.85:1)
Audio - English LPCM 2.0 Mono

    Extras:

    • NEW! Video Introduction and Q&A with Alan Ormsby!
    • NEW! 90-minute Video Documentary DREAMING OF DEATH: Bob Clark's Horror Films, with many new interviews with cast and crew!
    • Two cuts of the film, including the Complete Alternate U.K. Version!
    • Full Commentary Track with Alan Ormsby, Jane Daly and Anya Cronin!
    • Memories of Bob Clark: A video tribute to the late Director.
    • The Los Angeles Grindhouse Festival, May 22, 2007 Q&A: A Video filmed in between a double feature showing of CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY… and DEATHDREAM at the Beverly Cinema.
    • Confessions of a Grave Digger: Video Interview with Ken Goch.
    • Extensive Photo & Poster Gallery
    • "Dead Girls Don't Say No" Music video by The Deadthings.
    • "Cemetery Mary" Music video by The Deadthings.
    • Original Theatrical Trailer and Radio Spots.
    • New Special Liner-Notes Booklet written by Patrick McCabe.

Along with the upgraded picture quality (which I currently cannot confirm is an all new transfer, or a 4K upconversion from the previous 2K transfer they put out in 2016), all of the previous extras are included, but I'm personally excited to check out that new feature-length documentary that's on this disc! Originally slated for release on October 11th, VCI repeatedly pushed back their 50th Anniversary release of CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS until December 6th (ditto for their Region A Blu-ray disc). The upcoming 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of CHILDREN should cost between $27 - $30 (though the price may drop before release), and can be pre-ordered now from AMAZON, BULL MOOSE, or DIABOLIK DVD

I recall seeing the first trailer for LITTLE MONSTERS a while back and thinking "this looks fun!" And then I lost track of the movie, and failed to give it a second thought.... UNTIL TODAY! Thankfully some genius PR-rep sent me an e-mail reminder so I won't miss out on this new Horror-Comedy! Synopsis: Dave (ALEXANDER ENGLAND), a washed-up musician, volunteers to chaperone his nephew’s kindergarten field trip after taking a shine to the plucky schoolteacher, Miss Caroline (LUPITA NYONG’O). Dave’s intentions are complicated by the presence of world-famous child entertainer and competitor for Miss Caroline’s affections, Teddy McGiggle (JOSH GAD). One thing none of them bargained for, however, is a sudden zombie outbreak, from which Dave and Miss Caroline must protect the children.

Synopsis: The wines created by Dr. Elson Po have been known for decades as among the finest in the world, but unknown to the public, Po has been using his vintning and chemistry skills as a front for a much more sinister purpose; harvesting fresh blood from his youthful victims to produce an elixir designed to keep him young forever. Unfortunately, his special potion seems to be weakening in its strength and Po finds himself in need of fresh bodies.

Deciding to use his connections to the film industry, he presents himself as a potential film investor and invites a group of attractive young actors and models to his secluded island mansion, with the intent of harvesting their life sustaining properties. When they arrive, Po becomes convinced that statuesque beauty, Jezebel, might be the ideal candidate from which more elixir can be created and sends his henchmen out with the task of violently killing off her friends.

Now Available on DVD: It's Rebels Vs. Religion Vs. Zombies in Israel Luna's DEAD DON'T DIE IN DALLAS!

DEAD DON'T DIE IN DALLS DVD Cover.
TRANNIES BATTLE THE UNDEAD IN DIRECTOR ISRAEL LUNA'S LATEST FEATURE-LENGTH MOVIE!

DEAD DON'T DIE IN DALLAS' long journey toward distribution is finally over! Shot across various cities in Texas over the course seventeen days back in 2013, the film was originally titled KICKING ZOMBIE ASS FOR JESUS and was stuck in limbo until its completion in 2017. And now, after six years (!!!) Israel Luna's long-awaited companion piece to his 2010 cult classic, TICKED-OFF TRANNIES WITH KNIVES has finally arrived on DVD!

Synopsis: After a miracle pill intended to cure all infectious diseases, turns the people who took it into flesh-craving mutant zombies, transgender hairdresser Beth-Anne Fetterman (Willam Belli - A STAR IS BORN) battles for survival against a transphobic preacher in post-apocalyptic West Texas!

Additional Info: An openly gay filmmaker, Israel Luna made the film as a creative response to the homophobic and transphobic messages made by religious people over time. While covering religion and other topics, Israel says the film isn’t “pro-gay” or “anti-religion” and that it’s a movie for everyone.

Along with William Belli, DEAD DON'T DIE IN TEXAS also stars Krystal Summers (TICKED-OFF TRANNIES WITH KNIVES), Richard Curtain (FRIGHT FLICK), Tom Zembrod (FROM THE DARK), Adam Kitchen (The Ex-Box), and introducing Angel Martinez as Philomena the “tough-as-nails lesbian with a shotgun.” (Martinez who at the time was lesbian has since transitioned into a male.)

OVERLORD Now Available on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD!

JAMES AVERY'S WORLD WAR II-ERA HORROR FILM NOW AVAILABLE ON ALL FORMATS!

I missed out on OVERLORD when it came to theaters last year, but finally got to see this J.J. Abrams production the other day, and I was pleasantly surprised by it! While its not the first film to tackle the Horror genre in war-torn 1940's Germany (see also FRANKENSTEIN'S ARMY), this movie did it better than most. It has likeable characters, great effects, and edge-of-your-seat action sequences - I'm definitely going to be adding it to my movie collection!

Synopsis: With only hours until D-Day, a team of American paratroopers (Wyatt Russell, Iain DeCaestecker, Jovan Adepo, and John Magaro) drop into Nazi-occupied France to carry out a mission that's crucial to the invasion's success. Tasked with destroying a radio transmitter atop a fortified church, the desperate soldiers join forces with a young French villager to penetrate the walls and take down the tower.

But, in a mysterious Nazi lab beneath the church, the outnumbered G.I.s come face-to-face with enemies unlike any the world has ever seen. From producer J.J. Abrams, Overlord is a thrilling, pulse-pounding action adventure with a twist!

Code Red Ressurects Pupi Avati's REVENGE OF THE DEAD on Blu-ray!

KINO LORBER DISTRIBUTES CODE RED'S LATEST RELEASE OF PUPI AVATI'S UNDEAD CLASSIC.

There's two things you need to know about REVENGE OF THE DEAD Vault Dwellers. First off, the title and the cover art are terribly misleading. While this film does indeed deal with people returning from the dead, no rotting corpses burst forth from the streets and sewers as pictured.

Secondly, Code Red teamed with Ronin Flix last year to bring ZEDER to Blu-ray. That Region Free disc featured reversible cover art, an interview with director Pupi Avati, a short interview with star Gabriele Lavia, and featured the uncut (99-minute) version of the film. You can still buy copies of that release HERE at Ronix Flix' online store.

With that info out of the way, let's take a closer look at Code Red's new REVENGE OF THE DEAD Blu-ray!

Synopsis: Stefano, a young journalist, buys a used typewriter and accidentally sees that some text is still readable on the ribbon. He manages to reconstruct the story of a scientist, Paolo Zeder, who in the 1950's discovered that some types of terrain have the power to revive the dead that are buried in them. Stefano's investigations bring him in contact with a group of renegade scientists that are still making experiments to prove Zeder's theories.

    Disc Specs:
    Rated R | Color | 89 minutes | Region A
    Video - 1080p Widescreen (1.85:1)
    Audio - English & Italian DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0

    Extras:
    • Interviews with director Pupi Avati and star Gabrielle Lavia!
REVENGE OF THE DEAD is now available wherever Blu-ray discs are sold and costs between $16 - $25. If you're a fan of this film, or just looking for something a bit different in the realm of Italian Horror, pick up a copy of this Blu-ray now from AMAZON, BULLMOOSE, DIABOLIK DVD, or directly from KINO LORBER!

THE BONEYARD is Coming to DVD & Blu-ray from Code Red DVD!

DEMONIC GHOULS AND A MUTANT POODLE LURK WITHIN  JAMES CUMMINS' "THE BONEYARD!" AVAILABLE APRIL 24TH!

I recall reading a short one-paragraph review of THE BONEYARD in a movie guide from the 90s, but never managed to track a copy down. In fact,  until recently I had forgotten this odd gem existed. Now, thanks to Code Red DVD, I can scope out this quirky classic in high-definition!

Synopsis: A policeman (Ed Nelson) and a psychic (Deborah Rose) link cult mayhem to a morgue (run by Norman Fell) where ancient ghouls are on the loose! The film plunges into the nightmarish experiences of a portly, depressed psychic Alley Oates (Rose), whose involvement in a grisly child-murder case leads her and her detective partner Shepard (Nelson) to an imposing, fortress-like mortuary. Chen, the owner of the funeral home and prime suspect in the case, claims the three mummified corpses in question are not children but ancient demons known as Kyoshi.

It seems the little monsters have been around for centuries as a result of an age-old curse and can only be placated with offerings of human flesh with which the mortician has been supplying them his entire life. When Chen is jailed on murder charges, the under-fed ghouls awaken in search of dinner, trapping the staff inside the mortuary walls and devouring them. The survivors, including Rose and Nelson, use every means at their disposal to combat the demons, which have possessed the bodies of morgue attendant Mrs. Poopinplatz (Phyllis Diller) and her poodle, mutating them into hideous monsters.

Phyllis Diller's terrifying true form revealed!

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD and THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS Are Now Proudly Part of The Criterion Collection!

BOTH GEORGE A. ROMERO'S "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD" AND JONATHAN DEMME'S "THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS" GET 4K MAKEOVERS FROM CRITERION!

The Criterion Collection always sets a high standard for the films they release on DVD and Blu-ray, and their latest discs are no exception! NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968)

Synopsis: Shot outside Pittsburgh on a shoestring budget, by a band of filmmakers determined to make their mark, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, directed by horror master George A. Romero, is a great story of independent cinema: a midnight hit turned box-office smash that became one of the most influential films of all time!

A deceptively simple tale of a group of strangers trapped in a farmhouse who find themselves fending off a horde of recently dead, flesh-eating ghouls, Romero's claustrophobic vision of a late-1960s America literally tearing itself apart rewrote the rules of the horror genre, combined gruesome gore with acute social commentary, and quietly broke ground by casting a black actor (Duane Jones) in its lead role. Stark, haunting, and more relevant than ever, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD is back!

THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS (1991)

Synopsis: In this chilling adaptation of the best-selling novel by Thomas Harris, the astonishingly versatile director Jonathan Demme crafted a taut psychological thriller about an American obsession: serial murder. As Clarice Starling, an FBI trainee who enlists the help of the infamous Hannibal 'the Cannibal' Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) to gain insight into the mind of another killer, Jodie Foster subverts classic gender dynamics and gives one of the most memorable performances of her career.

As her foil, Anthony Hopkins is the archetypal antihero cultured, quick-witted, and savagely murderous delivering a harrowing portrait of humanity gone terribly wrong. A gripping police procedural and a disquieting immersion into a twisted psyche, THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS swept the Academy Awards (best picture, director, screenplay, actress, actor) and remains a cultural touchstone.

    LAND OF THE DEAD (2005)

A new society has been built by a hand of ruthless opportunists, who live in luxury in the towers of a skyscraper, high above the less fortunate citizens who must eke out a hard life on the streets below.

With the survival of the city at stake, a group of mercenaries is called into action to protect the living from the evolving army of the dead waiting outside the city walls. Trailer Round-Up: AT THE DRIVE IN, NEVER HIKE ALONE, PLANET FRANKENSTEIN, TRAIN TO BUSAN, & SHIN GODZILLA!

Hey Vault Dwellers! 2016 has been kind of a letdown for major theatrical releases (though I'm still super pumped for DOCTOR STRANGE and ROGUE ONE), but no need to fear because other countries, and indie filmmakers are keeping the spirit of cinema alive! For this edition of the News Vault's Trailer Round-Up, I'm going to take a look at a new Korean zombie flick, Toho's latest entry in their ongoing Godzilla franchise (Yay!), a cool documentary about drive-ins, a crowdfunded FRIDAY THE 13TH tale, and a teaser for an upcoming ode to exploitation cinema! Enjoy!

    TRAILER #1: AT THE DRIVE-IN
During my past visits to The Mahoning Drive-In, I saw a flyer in the concession stand telling us moviegoers not be alarmed if we saw a film crew lurking about, because they were filming a documentary. That doc has turned out to be Alexander Monelli's AT THE DRIVE-IN, which chronicles the history of The Mahoning, and it's big decision to skip going digital, in favor of showing 35mm classics every weekend!

I am definitely looking forward to the eventual release of this documentary as I simply love going to this venue! We can expect a longer trailer later this year during the holidays, and hopefully a release of the finished film sometime in 2017.

    TRAILER #2: NEVER HIKE ALONE
I don't quite recall how I discovered it, but I watched the trailer for NEVER HIKE ALONE today and got a real shock about a minute in. Thinking it was some sort of found footage flick, or maybe even a survival film, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this is actually a FRIDAY THE 13TH fan film!

A lone hiker named Kyle McLeod decides to pay the long abandoned Camp Crystal Lake a visit, and ends up running into a living legend! Using his survival training, Kyle must use his skills to evade and possibly even defeat the masked maniac Jason Voorhees! Will he succeed?!

Watch the trailer below, then CLICK HERE to help get this 22-minute short Kickstarted! That way, we'll all get a chance to see Kyle vs. Jason sometime next year!

    TRAILER #3: PLANET FRANKENSTEIN
Newt Wallen has been working tirelessly on completing his ode to trash cinema, MIDNIGHT SHOW. But now he's also working on a crazy Science-Fiction / Horror extravaganza involving vampires, and the daughters of The Frankenstein Monster... IN SPACE!

Here's a brief synopsis of PLANET FRANKENSTEIN: "During a daring escape from a Vampire stronghold, the daughters of Frankenstein's Monster run into a powerful cosmic storm that has marooned them on a hostile prison planet. For the next 48 hours rescue is impossible. The women have just one option: Survive!"

What you will see below is merely a proof-of-concept teaser trailer for PLANET FRANKENSTEIN, which is still in the very early stages of production. Here's wishing Newt and company all the best in getting their film off the ground! Peep out the teaser below, then give them some love over at the PLANET FRANKENSTEIN Facebook page!

    TRAILER #4: SHIN GODZILLA
Toho's smash hit SHIN GOJIRA is coming to U.S. shores for a limited engagement! Between October 11th to the 18th, Funimation is releasing SHIN GODZILLA in select theaters across the country! (Check Fandango to see if a theater near you is screening it! Note: This film will be subtitled, so if you "don't like to read movies," consider waiting for the eventual Blu-ray release.)

This reboot was directed by the creators of EVANGELION: NEON GENESIS, and their new design for the Big-G has been divisive among legions of Godzilla fans. In this new film, modern day Japan is attacked by the biggest (and most nightmarish) incarnation of Godzilla yet. Will modern weaponry and technology be a match for the gargantuan kaiju?!

I've already scored tickets to this and can't wait to see a BRAND NEW JAPANESE GODZILLA FILM ON THE BIG SCREEN! Scope out the awesome new trailer for SHIN GODZILLA and get excited kaiju fans!

    TRAILER #5: TRAIN TO BUSAN
The Critical Outcast's very own Chris Beaumont highly recommended this movie, and it's no secret why: It looks really good! Though I am admittedly tired of the zombie sub-genre, every now and again, a movie comes along that reignites my interest. And TRAIN TO BUSAN seems to fit the bill!

This South Korean Action Horror-Thriller features a group of travelers on a train that get caught up in a sudden zombie apocalypse. No place seems safe, and a select few fight to survive as their train barrels towards its final destination. The movie is getting rave reviews, and if the trailer is any indication, TRAIN TO BUSAN is going to be intense!

Well Go USA is currently giving this film a limited release in certain cities across the U.S. (CLICK HERE for dates and theater locations), and will hopefully release it on to DVD & Blu-ray later this year! Check out the newest trailer below, then get on board the hype train!

That's it for now Vault Dwellers, but check back again soon for another round of cool trailers for upcoming genre titles, as well as updates on other upcoming films and Blu-ray releases!

Trailer Round-Up: 31, BETA TEST, THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS, INOPERABLE, SHALLOW WATER, & SUMMER CAMP.

It's that time once again to post a bunch of cool trailers for a variety of genre films! We've got a new film coming from Rob Zombie, a crowdfunded creature feature, an odd new entry into the zombie subgenre, infected campers, deadly video games, and a terrifying visit to the hospital! Let's dig in, shall we Vault Dwellers?!

    TRAILER #1: 31
Rob Zombie's latest is like THE RUNNING MAN was thrown into a blender with some white trash (a staple of Zombie films). A group of people are kidnapped and forced to "play" a round of 31. They have twelve hours to survive a maze filled with armed psychopaths painted up as clowns, for the amusement of a few HUNGER GAMES rejects. Now for the record, I am not a big Rob Zombie fan (I think he peaked with THE DEVIL'S REJECTS), but I must admit.... this does look a bit enticing to yours truly. You can see 31 in theaters on September 16th! (Kind of missing the mark by not releasing this one closer to Halloween, no?) Peep out the trailer below.

    TRAILER #2: BETA TEST
A teenager trying out the beta version of a brand new first person shooter, soon discovers that he is controlling the movements of an actual human being. After committing various crimes, the video game champion and his human "avatar" team up to take down the corrupt creators of the alleged video game. Watch the trailer below and look for BETA TEST in select theaters on July 22nd!

TRAILER #3: THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS
In the apocalyptic future, the remnants of humanity are creating zombie/human hybrids to find a cure for the virus that has been reanimating the dead, and pushing humanity to the brink of extinction. One little girl may hold the key to saving the world, leading to a race against time as the living and the dead clash in this, dare I say, fresh take on the zombie subgenre. This film features Glenn Close and Gemma Arterton, and will be hitting UK theaters on September 23rd. I think it looks interesting, and will be glad to give it a whirl once it comes to the U.S.!

    TRAILER #4: INOPERABLE
Danielle Harris stars in this new horror flick, where a young woman finds herself trapped in a seemingly evacuated hospital just as a hurricane is about to hit. It appears that patients are being experimented on and tortured by the hospital staff, but is it all real? Or is it a dream? Or is there something supernatural going on? Well, until INOPERABLE gets a release date, we'll never know for sure! Check out the promising trailer below!

    TRAILER #5: SHALLOW WATER
Sandy Collora made a name for himself years ago, when he created BATMAN: DEAD END (watch it HERE). Now he's setting out to create an all new creature feature that is supposed to be just the first part of an anthology! This film will focus on a group of people being attacked by the Tiburonera, or Hunter of Sharks, an amphibious menace that looks like a cross between the Gill-Man and a snapping turtle!

Sandy is still working on raising funds on Kickstarter, and will hopefully get his production underway once he (hopefully) hits his funding goal of $85,000! Scope out the proof of concept trailer below and consider pledging a few bucks to get this project off the ground!

    TRAILER #6: SUMMER CAMP
American counselors at a European summer camp, fight for their lives when the kids they are supervising become infected by a "rage virus." Personally, I'm a bit tired of infected/zombie flicks, but this film shows some promise, and looks to have some cool nods to other Horror classics. (e.g. the dog scene kind of reminded me of THE THING, and the final shot of the trailer is a definite homage to a classic EVIL DEAD poster.)

SUMMER CAMP just had it's theatrical release in Spain, and will be coming out on DVD here in the United States on August 2nd! Watch the trailer below!

That's all I've got for you today Vault Dwellers! Check back again soon for more trailers, news, and more here at the News Vault!
