I remember all the hoopla when the first trailers for THE HUNT hit the web, and I for one was more than ready to scope out this darkly humorous contemporary version of THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME. Surprisingly the film was shelved due to outrage caused by its perceived anti-conservative bent (which apparently isn't the case), and didn't get released in theaters until March of this year.

And then the global pandemic happened, theater chains shut down, and the film just didn't have enough time to find its audience. But now that THE HUNT is available on DVD & Blu-ray disc, those of us that missed it on the big screen can finally give it a look (if we haven't already rented it digitally that is)!

Synopsis: In this subversive satire, a group of elites gather for the very first time at a remote Manor House to hunt ordinary Americans for sport. But the elites' master plan is about to be derailed because one of The Hunted, Crystal (Betty Gilpin, Glow), knows The Hunters' game better than they do. She turns the tables on the killers, picking them off one by one as she makes her way toward the mysterious woman (two-time Oscar® winner Hilary Swank) at the center of it all.

WATCH JESSICA ROTHE DIE OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN IN "HAPPY DEATH DAY!"

I recall seeing the trailer for this film earlier last year and thinking to myself "Huh, this could be fun." Though I have still not had the chance to watch it, by all accounts, HAPPY DEATH DAY indeed turned out to be a total blast to watch!

And now that this critical (and box office) success is out on DVD & Blu-ray, I can finally check it out for myself!

Synopsis: Blumhouse (SPLIT, GET OUT) produces this original and inventive rewinding thriller in which a blissfully self-centered co-ed (Jessica Rothe, LA LA LAND) is doomed to relive the day of her murder unless she can identify her masked assailant and hopefully stop the madness. If she can’t, she will be stuck in an insane loop, reliving a ghoulish nightmare that has become her death day.

Blumhouse Productions Invites You to Play TRUTH OR DARE on April 27th!

BLUMHOUSE'S LATEST HORROR OFFERING PUTS A DEADLY SUPERNATURAL SPIN ON AN OLD PARTY GAME!

Having watched the trailer for TRUTH OR DARE, it sort of feels like something akin to IT FOLLOWS, in that a curse is passed to a group of unsuspecting teens. The big difference though is that the supernatural villain in this film isn't out to literally screw them!

Blumhouse has been on fire lately with their ongoing INSIDIOUS and THE PURGE series, plus really solid genre efforts like GET OUT, HAPPY DEATH DAY, and SPLIT! TRUTH OR DARE could very well be the start of yet another successful franchise for them, but we'll have to wait until late April to find out!

Synopsis: Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars) and Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf) lead the cast of TRUTH OR DARE, a supernatural thriller from Blumhouse Productions. A harmless game of "Truth or Dare" among friends turns deadly when someone, or something, begins to punish those who tell a lie-or refuse the dare.

Directed by Jeff Wadlow (KICK-ASS 2), the thriller co-stars Violett Beane, Nolan Gerard Funk, Hayden Szeto and Sophia Taylor Ali. The film was produced by Jason Blum and executive produced by writer-director Wadlow.
