As a collector of other than fine film, I find myself frequently picking up discs that I often don't get to watch until months (or even years) later. Such was the case with my Scream Factory Blu-ray of THE VAGRANT, which I randomly chose one night as I agonized over what to watch. Deciding that I should try something I hadn't already seen before, I settled on THE VAGRANT and ended up loving this bizarre movie!
It's a lot of fun, has a great cast, and has a truly unique twist - needless to say, it almost instantly became new favorite of mine! And now it looks like I'll have to double-dip on this movie because Arrow Video's release of the film is a big step up from the previous Blu-ray release! Synopsis: The 90s cult classic is back! Directed by Chris Walas - FX genius of GREMLINS and THE FLY - THE VAGRANT is a demented black comedy starring cult icons Bill Paxton (ALIENS, PREDATOR 2, NEAR DARK), Michael Ironside (SCANNERS, STARSHIP TROOPERS, TURBO KID), Colleen Camp (DEATH GAME, CLUE: THE MOVIE), and Marshall Bell (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2: FREDDY'S REVENGE, TOTAL RECALL) in a grimy blend of satire and grisly terror.
Mild-mannered financial clerk Graham Krakowski (Paxton) buys a run-down starter home only to discover a vagrant, living in the empty lot across the street, keeps appearing inside. Attempts to remove the homeless man lead to a feud that spirals out of control and tests Graham's sanity as the vagrant engages him in twisted mind games, defiling his home, and framing him for gruesome murders.
Beloved character actor Bill Paxton stepped up to leading man status in THE VAGRANT and proved his extraordinary range in a role that runs the gamut of emotions and climbs to stratospheric heights of craziness. Newly restored from the original camera negative THE VAGRANT is a one of a kind movie that deserves a place in any cult film collection.

Wow! That's a whole lot of love for a relatively obscure film - looks like I'm definitely going to upgrade when the time (i.e. price) is right! Currently THE VAGRANT costs between $26 - $40 (yowza!) and is readily available from AMAZON, BULL MOOSE, DIABOLIK DVD, and ARROW VIDEO! The price is a little steep at the moment, but don't be afraid to wait a bit because Arrow Video titles go on sale several times a year! Still not sold on adding this one to your collection?
