ALIEN: COVENANT will hug your face on August 15th!

RIDLEY SCOTT'S SEQUEL TO 'PROMETHEUS' ARRIVES ON HOME VIDEO THIS TUESDAY (8/15)!

I was not a huge fan of PROMETHEUS, but I did enjoy its followup quite a bit. ALIEN: COVENANT is a solid entry into the franchise, and Michael Fassbender steals the show both as David, and a new synthetic human called Walter.

Also, if you plan on picking this up, but for some reason don't have all the other movies, there is a groovy new set featuring all six films be released Tuesday as well! You can order it HERE.

Synopsis: The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an unchartered paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a terrifying threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

Featuring an all-star cast including Academy Award Nominee Michael Fassbender (The X-MEN franchise, STEVE JOBS), Katherine Waterston (FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM), Billy Crudup (JACKIE), Danny McBride (THIS IS THE END) and Demián Bichir (THE HATEFUL EIGHT), ALIEN: COVENANT is loaded with bonus material!

VAULT VID-O-RAMA: ALIEN DAY EDITION!

It's April 26th, and you know what that means Vault Dwellers! IT'S ALIEN DAY ONCE AGAIN!

To celebrate, 20th Century Fox is apparently doing a lot of cool stuff today, including a Live Stream Event featuring interviews with ALIEN: COVENANT cast & crew members, plus exclusive footage from the film. There are also plans for some trivia challenges, a fan art contest, special screenings of ALIEN & PROMETHEUS (check Fandango for theaters and showtimes), and more! For more details, head over to PopCultureHQ!

In honor of this relatively new Xenomorph fan-centric "holiday," we here at The B-Movie News Vault present to you a series of ALIEN-themed YouTube videos that will have you waxing nostalgic, and get you pumped for the upcoming ALIEN: CONVENANT (in theaters May 19th)!

TOY COMMERCIALS
"A-LI-ENS! SEND IN THE MARINES!" Man I loved hearing that phrase emanating from my TV's speakers back in the '90s! When the run of toys based on ALIENS came out, I was only nine years old, and well on my way to being a Sci-Fi and Horror junkie. My parents fed my addiction, and that's why I (at one time) had a ton of ALIEN action figures!

Oddly enough, I didn't have any of the human characters, but did have a good mix of Xenomorphs, including the Queen (which sadly fell apart after falling off a shelf), the water-spitting "gorilla" alien, and spiky green "mantis" alien! Scope out these cool commercials and wish you had these toys!

And here's a classic commercial for the ALIEN toy made by Kenner way back in the day!

ALIEN PARODIES
Sure the hive-mind swarms of Xenomorphs are supposed to be terrifying, but that hasn't stopped various comedic minds from poking fun at the acid-blooded space "bugs." Here's a collection of hilarious ALIEN parodies (and musicals!) that should elicit a few good chuckles.

ALIEN RIP-OFFS (TRAILER REEL!)
The most enduring legacy of ALIEN, and its sequels, is the seemingly endless army of rip-offs it has generated. Below is a playlist I created, of numerous films that said "screw it, we're gonna copy ALIEN and ALIENS, but at a fraction of the price!"

BONUS VIDEO: TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES - THE CASE OF THE KILLER PIZZAS

The classic '80s Turtles cartoon series poked fun at numerous Horror and Sci-Fi characters during its ten season run. But in Season 2, Episode 6, the fearsome foursome tangled with monsters (hatched from meatball-like eggs) that look sort of familiar....

AFTER DARK FILMS RELEASES 8 NEW FILMS TO DIE FOR!

After a four-year hiatus, After Dark Films is teaming with 20th Century Fox to bring you EIGHT (new) FILMS TO DIE FOR! These eight horror flicks are now available in select theaters, Digital HD, and Video On Demand, with DVD releases expected on Oct. 27th! Here's the lowdown on these new additions to the After Dark catalog:

RE-KILL
It's been 5 years since the outbreak that wiped out 85% of the world's population, but the war between Re-Animates (Re-Ans) and Humans wages on, as most of the major cities are still uninhabitable. Within the few surviving cities, the Re-Ans have been segregated into "zones" and are policed by the R-Division of the QUASI S.W.A.T. Unit who hunt to re-kill the Re-Ans in the hope of quelling a second outbreak.

MURDER IN THE DARK
When a group of young people camping in the ruins of a medieval Turkish town play a party game called 'Murder in the Dark', they soon discover that someone is taking the game too far... Produced in an experimental shooting style, this murder-mystery features a cast of actors who were not allowed to see the script. The actors' choices interactively changed the shape of the story. They had to use clues to solve the mystery laid out before them by the filmmakers.

THE WICKED WITHIN
When a little girl dies, her family gathers to mourn the loss. Yet the pain is not forgotten and a vengeful demon spirit takes possession of a vulnerable family member tearing at the ties that bind them all together. One by one, it forces each family member to confess to his or her buried lies and face the morbid consequences of their sins.

LUMBERJACK MAN
As the staff of Good Friends Church Camp prepares for a spring break filled with "Fun Under the Son", a demon logger rises from his sap boiler to wreak his vengeance and feast on flapjacks soaked in the blood of his victims.

SUSPENSION
Emily is a high-school student with a penchant for drawing gruesome pictures in her sketchbook. There's a reason for her obsession with horrific images: Her father Tom once went on a murder spree and is now residing in a mental hospital. On a night she's home alone babysitting her mute little brother, Tom escapes and targets Emily and her friends during a bloody killing rampage.

UNNATURAL
A morally ambiguous corporation experiments with genetic modification resulting in the advent of a bloodthirsty man-hunting creature. When the creature escapes, a group of unsuspecting Alaskan natives and their inexperienced guests, which includes a high-maintenance celebrity photographer and a pair of models, becomes prey for the abomination in a horrifying game of cat and mouse.

BASTARD
Five strangers - newlywed serial killers, a suicidal cop, and two runaways - become suspect and victim when a masked murderer makes his presence known in an isolated mountain town.

WIND WALKERS
A U.S. solider returns home from captivity to find that his best friend and fellow former POW has gone AWOL. While out on an annual hunting trip with his friend’s father and some extended family, the group comes under attack by an ancient Native American curse that has mysterious connections to his best friend’s heritage and the prison in which the soldiers were once held captive.

Hmm... we've got zombies, masked murderers, genetic monstrosities, demons, and (possibly) a Wendigo! I am totally game for all of these flicks! Peep the trailer below and get excited!
