Scream Factory revs up THE LAWNMOWER MAN on June 20th!

WITNESS A SIMPLE MAN BECOME A GOD IN SCREAM FACTORY'S NEW COLLECTOR'S EDITION BLU-RAY OF THE LAWNMOWER MAN!

Truth be told, THE LAWNMOWER MAN was a film I just couldn't quite get into when it originally came out. (Give me a break - I was only 9 years old!) But now that it is making its big Blu-ray debut, I'm finally ready to give it a shot!

Synopsis: Dr. Lawrence Angelo (Pierce Brosnan, THE SON) is a brilliant scientist obsessed with perfecting virtual reality software. When his experiments on animals fail, he finds the ideal substitute – Jobe Smith (Jeff Fahey, MACHETE), a slow-witted gardener. Dr. Angelo's goal is to benefit his human guinea pig and ultimately mankind itself, but evil lurks the guise of "The Shop," a shadowy group that seeks to use the technology to create an invincible war machine.

When the experiments change the simple Jobe into a superhuman being, the stage is set for a Jekyll-and-Hyde struggle for the control of Jobe's mind and the future of the world. Directed by Brett Leonard (VIRTUOSITY, HIDEAWAY), the film also stars Jenny Wright (NEAR DARK) and Geoffrey Lewis (THE DEVIL'S REJECTS).

Scream Factory's I, MADMAN: Final Blu-ray specs & extras!

TIBOR TAKAC'S TWISTED TALE OF LOVE COMES TO BLU-RAY COURTESY OF SCREAM FACTORY ON JULY 21ST!

I openly admit that I adore Tibor Takac's THE GATE (something I can't say about its sub-par sequel, or Takac's recent film SPIDERS); it's a great movie! (That also happens to deserve a blu-ray release!)

However, I am in the dark when it comes to I, MADMAN. I own the old MGM DVD, but never got around to watching it. It looks like that'll be changing soon with the impending release of Scream Factory's blu-ray!

Movie Synopsis: After a spine-tingling paperback catches the imagination of bookstore clerk Virginia, she seeks out the author's second book, I, Madman. But once she opens the cover, its eerie tale of obsessive love comes to life, catapulting a disfigured, scalpel-wielding killer from the world of fiction onto the streets of Hollywood with one demented goal: to win Virginia's love, one murder at a time!

Directed cult filmmaker Tibor Takacs (THE GATE), I, MADMAN stars Jenny Wright (NEAR DARK, THE LAWNMOWER MAN), Clayton Rohner (APRIL FOOL'S DAY, THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE III), and three-time Academy Award® winner Randall William Cook (DR. CALIGARI) as the mysterious and frightening Malcolm Brand.

Blu-ray Specs:
Color | 89 minutes | Rated R | Region A
Video - 1080p Widescreen (1.85:1)
Audio -  DTS-HD Master Audio Mono

Special Features:
  • Audio Commentary featuring director Tibor Takacs with actor & artistic supervisor Randall William Cook.
  • Ripped From The Pages – The Making of “I, Madman”, featuring interviews with director Tibor Takacs, actor & artistic supervisor Randall William Cook, screenwriter David Chaskin, actor Clayton Rohner, and actress Stephanie Hodge.
