Tibor Takacs' GATE II Comes to Blu-ray in February!

SCREAM FACTORY REOPENS THE GATE, WITH THEIR DEFINITIVE RELEASE OF THIS LONG OUT OF PRINT SEQUEL!

I absolutely love Tibor Takacs' THE GATE. It was one of the first Horror films I saw growing up, and I'm happy to say that it still holds up remarkably well after all these years! And the Vestron Collector's Series Blu-ray release for it is a must-have!

I haven't seen GATE II in a very long time, but if memory serves, I wasn't a huge fan of it. However, time sometimes changes one's perspective, so I'll have to pick this Scream Factory release up at some point and revisit it!

Synopsis: Not all minions are cute and cuddly … This supercharged sequel to the horror classic THE GATE comes alive with unearthly creatures, heart-stopping action, and incredible special effects.

GATE II picks up again with Terry (Louis Tripp), the teenage sorcerer who summons beings from the other side whose powers can be used to grant any wish. Unfortunately, before the Gate closes again, a "minion" – a tiny disciple of Satan himself – manages to slip through to our dimension. When the creature is kidnapped – all hell breaks loose!

Directed by Tibor Takacs (THE GATE, I, MADMAN, Sabrina the Teenage Witch), GATE II is based on characters created by Michael Nankin (Battlestar Galactica, Hell on Wheels), and stars Louis Tripp (THE GATE) and Pamela Segall (King of the Hill, Californication).

This all could have been avoided if Terry had watched Mazes and Monsters!

LIONSGATE'S VESTRON COLLECTOR'S SERIES GIVES TIBOR TAKACS' CLASSIC "THE GATE," THE ROYAL TREATMENT ON BLU-RAY!

I unabashedly love THE GATE. Growing up, it was one of my favorite Horror movies (probably because it involved kids fighting against a supernatural evil), and I'm amazed at  how well the film's effects still hold up. Now, within days I will be able to enjoy this film in high-definition, with hours of extras covering every facet of its production! JOY!

Scream Factory's I, MADMAN: Final Blu-ray specs & extras!

TIBOR TAKAC'S TWISTED TALE OF LOVE COMES TO BLU-RAY COURTESY OF SCREAM FACTORY ON JULY 21ST!

I openly admit that I adore Tibor Takac's THE GATE (something I can't say about its sub-par sequel, or Takac's recent film SPIDERS); it's a great movie! (That also happens to deserve a blu-ray release!)

However, I am in the dark when it comes to I, MADMAN. I own the old MGM DVD, but never got around to watching it. It looks like that'll be changing soon with the impending release of Scream Factory's blu-ray!

Movie Synopsis: After a spine-tingling paperback catches the imagination of bookstore clerk Virginia, she seeks out the author's second book, I, Madman. But once she opens the cover, its eerie tale of obsessive love comes to life, catapulting a disfigured, scalpel-wielding killer from the world of fiction onto the streets of Hollywood with one demented goal: to win Virginia's love, one murder at a time!

Directed cult filmmaker Tibor Takacs (THE GATE), I, MADMAN stars Jenny Wright (NEAR DARK, THE LAWNMOWER MAN), Clayton Rohner (APRIL FOOL'S DAY, THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE III), and three-time Academy Award® winner Randall William Cook (DR. CALIGARI) as the mysterious and frightening Malcolm Brand.
