Scream Factory delivers the last ARMY OF DARKNESS release you'll ever need to buy on October 27th!

GET SCREAM FACTORY'S GROOVY 3-DISC COLLECTOR'S EDITION OF "ARMY OF DARKNESS" ON OCTOBER 27TH!

I am a lifelong fan of Sam Raimi's EVIL DEAD series, and I've purchased all three films so many times, in so many formats. Thankfully, with the rise of Blu-ray disc, I've gotten relatively definitive editions of the first two films. All that stood in my way of having the ultimate high-def collection of the original EVIL DEAD TRILOGY, was the lack of a be-all and end-all ARMY OF DARKNESS Blu-ray release.

Until now.....

Film Synopsis: Back to do battle with the hideous "Deadites," Bruce Campbell returns to the role of Ash, the handsome, shotgun-toting, chainsaw-armed department store clerk from S-Mart's housewares division. Demonic forces time warp him – and his '73 Oldsmobile – into England's Dark Ages, where he romances a beauty (Embeth Davidtz, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN) and faces legions of the undead. Can Ash save the living from the evil dead, rescue his girlfriend, and get back to his own time?

On October 27, 2015, SCREAM FACTORY is proud to present ARMY OF DARKNESS Collector’s Edition, featuring the Theatrical Cut of the film, the Director’s Cut (with 15 minutes of extra footage), the International Cut and the TV version (in standard definition). This definitive collector’s edition of ARMY OF DARKNESS is jam-packed with a wealth of bonus content, including new interviews with star and co-producer Bruce Campbell and the cast, special make-up effect artists Howard Berger, Tony Gardner, Robert Kurtzman, and Greg Nicotero, audio commentary, alternate and deleted scenes and much more – all collected in a special 3-Disc Blu-ray set!

A must-have for loyal fans, movie collectors, pop culture enthusiasts and fans of Bruce Campbell to complete their entertainment library, ARMY OF DARKNESS Collector’s Edition also contains a collectible cover featuring newly rendered retro-style artwork and a reversible cover wrap featuring original theatrical key art.

Scream Factory to release James Roday's GRAVY in early October!

SCREAM FACTORY BRINGING HORROR-COMEDY "GRAVY" TO THEATERS ON OCT. 2ND - TO DVD & BLU-RAY ON OCT. 6TH!

Last June I reported that Scream Factory had acquired the North American rights to James Roday's GRAVY. Now Summer is just about over with, and we're only a few short weeks from finally seeing this new cult horror-comedy!

Film Synopsis: It’s Halloween night. A trio of costumed misfits with very special dietary requirements seizes a Mexican cantina and forces the staff to engage in a late night of gluttony. The only caveat is what’s on the menu… and who will survive ‘til morning!

This deliriously demented horror-comedy is a true feast for genre fans. Stuffed with an outstanding ensemble cast and perfectly seasoned with laughs and scares, you’ll be sure to ask for seconds on Gravy.

Directed and written by James Roday (PSYCH) and Todd Harthan (PSYCH, DOMINION), GRAVY boasts an all-star ensemble cast of Michael Weston (STATE OF PLAY, GARDEN STATE), Jimmi Simpson (HOUSE OF CARDS, WHITE HOUSE DOWN), Sutton Foster (YOUNGER, BUNHEADS), Lily Cole (SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN), Molly Ephraim (LAST MAN STANDING), Paul Rodriguez (ALI), Gabriel Luna (TRUE DETECTIVE, WICKED CITY), Lothaire Bluteau (VIKINGS, THE TUDOR), Ethan Sandler (THE BOURNE SUPREMACY, CROSSING JORDAN) Dule Hill (BALLERS, PSYCH), with Gabourey Sidibe (EMPIRE, PRECIOUS) and Sarah Silverman (WRECK-IT RALPH).

Blu-ray Specs:
Color | 90 minutes | Not Rated | Region A
Video - 1080p Widescreen (2.35:1)
Audio - N/A (I'm assuming Lossless HD DTS 5.1 Master Audio)

Special Features:
  •  Audio Commentary With James Roday, Sutton Foster And Jimmi Simpson.

Watch Cameron McCasland's TAILYPO!

So right now, you are probably asking yourself the very question that I did when director Cameron McCasland sent me a link to his new short film: What in the hell is a Tailypo?! It's a cat-like creature of legend from the Appalachians. It seeks out anyone that somehow comes into the possession of its tail, and will call out in the night "Tailypo. Tailypo! Who has my Tailypo?!"

I thought McCasland's TAILYPO was pretty nifty. I've never heard of the legend before (odd since I don't live all that far from the Northern-most part of Appalachia), and I think it lends itself well to a short film format.

I enjoyed this little fourteen minute movie, and my only gripe is that the filmmakers didn't have the money to create a more convincing creature. But don't take that as a condemnation of TAILYPO: It's well made and something spooky you can share with your kids!

Watch the video below, and see what happens when a poor hunter and his dog run afoul of the mythical Tailypo!
