A Hurricane is the Least of Everyone's Worries in CRAWL - Coming to DVD & Blu-ray on October 15th!

Blu-ray cover for Paramount's CRAWL - directed by Alexandre Aja and produced by Sam Raimi!
DIRECTED BY ALEXANDRE AJA AND PRODUCED BY SAM RAIMI, THIS NEW KILLER GATOR FLICK IS A GUARANTEED GOOD TIME!

When it comes to films featuring man-eating crocodiles or alligators, I'm typically first in line to check it out! That being said, I totally missed out on CRAWL during its theatrical run this Summer, so I'm definitely going to go out of my way to watch it next week when it hits Blu-ray! If you are a fan of "natural horror" films as well, then you'll definitely want to pick up a copy of CRAWL on October 15th! Or, if you're impatient, you can watch it digitally right now!

Synopsis: From director Alexandre Aja (PIRANHA 3D, THE HILLS HAVE EYES, HIGH TENSION) and producers Craig Flores (300), and Sam Raimi (DON'T BREATHE, DRAG ME TO HELL, THE EVIL DEAD franchise) comes CRAWL, a nail-biting horror thriller!

When a massive hurricane hits her Florida hometown, Haley (Kaya Scodelario) ignores evacuation orders to search for her missing father (Barry Pepper). Finding him gravely injured in the crawl space of their family home, the two become trapped by quickly encroaching floodwaters. As time runs out to escape the strengthening storm, Haley and her father discover that the rising water level is the least of their fears!

Sam Raimi's Horror Classic, THE EVIL DEAD, Makes the Leap to 4K Ultra HD on October 9th!

"THE EVIL DEAD" RETURNS IN YET ANOTHER NEW HOME VIDEO RELEASE!

Egads! I have purchased the entirety of the EVIL DEAD franchise in various formats over the years, and it looks like I may end up doing it again! Raimi's classic original makes its debut on 4K Ultra HD, though it is far from being a definitive release. I guess that means that we'll eventually get a "Deluxe Edition" that is packed with extras, and most likely a 4K release of EVIL DEAD II in the near future!

Synopsis: THE EVIL DEAD, director Sam Raimi’s (DARKMAN, THE QUICK AND THE DEAD, ARMY OF DARKNESS) first feature film, is a true cult classic in every sense of the word. Originally released in 1982, THE EVIL DEAD tells the tale of a group of friends who go to a cabin in the woods, where they encounter an unspeakable evil lurking in the forest. They find the Necronomicon Ex Mortus ("The Book of the Dead"), and the taped translation of the text.

Once the tape is played, the evil is released. One by one, the teens become deadly zombies. With only one remaining (Bruce Campbell - Ash vs. Evil Dead, BUBBA HO-TEP, MANIAC COP), it is up to him to survive the night and battle THE EVIL DEAD.

Disc Specs:
Not Rated | Color | 85 minutes | Region A
Video - 2160p Widescreen (1.85:1)
Audio - English 5.1 Dolby TrueHD

Extras:
  • Audio Commentary with writer-director Sam Raimi, producer Robert Tapert, and star Bruce Campbell!
While I'm sure many fans will snap up this release, I'm sure that some will be disappointed by the lack of an original Mono audio track, and dearth of special features. Still, the draw of seeing THE EVIL DEAD in twice the resolution of its previous Blu-ray release is hard to pass up, especially since this disc only costs between $16 - $18! You can order a copy of this 4K Ultra HD release now from AMAZON, BULLMOOSE, or DIABOLIK DVD!

Scream Factory delivers the last ARMY OF DARKNESS release you'll ever need to buy on October 27th!

GET SCREAM FACTORY'S GROOVY 3-DISC COLLECTOR'S EDITION OF "ARMY OF DARKNESS" ON OCTOBER 27TH!

I am a lifelong fan of Sam Raimi's EVIL DEAD series, and I've purchased all three films so many times, in so many formats. Thankfully, with the rise of Blu-ray disc, I've gotten relatively definitive editions of the first two films. All that stood in my way of having the ultimate high-def collection of the original EVIL DEAD TRILOGY, was the lack of a be-all and end-all ARMY OF DARKNESS Blu-ray release.

Until now.....

Film Synopsis: Back to do battle with the hideous "Deadites," Bruce Campbell returns to the role of Ash, the handsome, shotgun-toting, chainsaw-armed department store clerk from S-Mart's housewares division. Demonic forces time warp him – and his '73 Oldsmobile – into England's Dark Ages, where he romances a beauty (Embeth Davidtz, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN) and faces legions of the undead. Can Ash save the living from the evil dead, rescue his girlfriend, and get back to his own time?

On October 27, 2015, SCREAM FACTORY is proud to present ARMY OF DARKNESS Collector’s Edition, featuring the Theatrical Cut of the film, the Director’s Cut (with 15 minutes of extra footage), the International Cut and the TV version (in standard definition). This definitive collector’s edition of ARMY OF DARKNESS is jam-packed with a wealth of bonus content, including new interviews with star and co-producer Bruce Campbell and the cast, special make-up effect artists Howard Berger, Tony Gardner, Robert Kurtzman, and Greg Nicotero, audio commentary, alternate and deleted scenes and much more – all collected in a special 3-Disc Blu-ray set!

A must-have for loyal fans, movie collectors, pop culture enthusiasts and fans of Bruce Campbell to complete their entertainment library, ARMY OF DARKNESS Collector’s Edition also contains a collectible cover featuring newly rendered retro-style artwork and a reversible cover wrap featuring original theatrical key art.
