No Judge. No Jury. No Appeals. No Deals. Get the New Special Edition Blu-rays of DEATH WISH 4 & 5 Today!

Cover art for Kino Lorber Studio Classics' Special Edition of DEATH WISH 4: THE CRACKDOWN!KINO LORBER STUDIO CLASSICS RELEASES THE FINAL TWO INSTALLMENTS IN THE INCREASINGLY INSANE "DEATH WISH" FRANCHISE TO BLU-RAY DISC!

Along with Chuck Norris, Charles Bronson (aka "the other Chuck") was a major staple of Cannon Films fare, as well as numerous action films and Westerns! But his most famous role was likely vigilante Paul Kersey from the DEATH WISH series.

Initially a proud conscientious objector, Kersey begins meting out his own brand of justice on the crime-riddled streets of New York City after the murder of his wife and sexual assault of his daughter. Bronson's character would then swiftly evolve into a one-man army that took on entire street gangs and drug cartels by the series' end!

Some of you may already own previous DEATH WISH 4 and 5 Blu-rays (both sequels have previously been released by MGM and Umbrella Entertainment) and may want to skip out on these new Kino discs. But if you have two empty spots by DEATH WISH, DEATH WISH 2, and DEATH WISH 3 on your movie shelves, it's time to fill in those gaps!

DEATH WISH 4: THE CRACKDOWN (1987)

Synopsis: Paul Kersey (Charles Bronson), who is no stranger to vigilante justice, is pulled back into the underworld of Los Angeles when the daughter of his new girlfriend, Karen (Kay Lenz - WHITE LINE FEVER, HOUSE), dies after an overdose of crack cocaine. Intent on seeing justice served, Paul goes after the kingpin who ultimately supplied the crack. As he hunts down the kingpin's minions, Paul starts taking out a large part of the city's drug-dealing population on a violent killing spree.

Extras:

  • Audio Commentary by Film Historian Paul Talbot, the Author of Bronson's Loose!

It doesn't seem like any effort was made to do a new 4K transfer/restoration of this film, and the sparse extras appear to have been ported over from Umbrella Entertainment's Blu-ray double feature. So if you already own this movie, feel free to make a hard pass. But if you're a completionist that is lacking this sequel, and you don't mind spending $17 - $20, then grab a copy now from AMAZON, BULL MOOSE, DIABOLIK DVD, or directly from KINO LORBER!

DEATH WISH 5: THE FACE OF DEATH (1994)

Synopsis: Famed vigilante Paul Kersey (Charles Bronson) takes his girlfriend, Olivia (Lesley-Anne Down - NOMADS, BEASTMASTER III: THE EYE OF BRAXUS), out to dinner and proposes to her. She accepts but is soon assaulted by a thug (Robert Joy - AMITYVILLE 3D, MILLENNIUM, THE DARK HALF), causing irreparable disfigurement.

The thug is an associate of Olivia's ex-husband, mobster Tommy O'Shea (Michael Parks - THE EVICTORS, NIGHTMARE BEACH), who is terrorizing Olivia in an effort to discourage her from testifying against him. When the coercion gets worse, Kersey takes a ruthless stand and vows to hunt O'Shea down.

Again, there's not really much here to get excited for, and if you already own DEATH WISH V: THE FACE OF DEATH, then you won't need to bother with this release. However, if you don't already have it at home, then by all means pick up a copy to polish off your DEATH WISH collection! This disc should cost between $17 - $20 and can be easily obtained from AMAZON, BULL MOOSE, DIABOLIK DVD, or direct from KINO LORBER!

80's Action Stars Battle Slashers in 10 TO MIDNIGHT & COBRA!

CHARLES BRONSON AND SYLVESTER STALLONE TAKE ON SERIAL KILLERS IN SCREAM FACTORY'S NEWEST COLLECTOR'S EDITION BLU-RAYS!

As much as it pains me to say it Vault Dwellers, I have never seen 10 TO MIDNIGHT. This is a real tragedy because I love Charles Bronson and I love slasher flicks! I vow to remedy this injustice as soon as possible. (This weekend maybe?) COBRA on the other hand I am quite familiar with - looks like it's time to upgrade from my old DVD (which is nestled in one of those awful cardboard snap-cases that never really caught on).

While I'm already convinced that I need both of these Blu-ray discs, maybe those of you reading this post are on the fence? Well if that's the case, let's take a closer look at both releases!

10 TO MIDNIGHT (1983)

Synopsis: Charles Bronson is "a hero all the way" (Variety) as a rogue cop pursuing a deranged killer in this action-packed suspense/thriller. Serving up vigilante justice as only he can, Bronson delivers one of his most riveting performances in this exceedingly well-made film.

Bronson plays Leo Kessler, a cynical Los Angeles cop on the trail of Warren Stacy (Gene Davis), a homicidal maniac who turns rejection from beautiful women into the ultimate revenge. When the legal system sets Stacy free, Kessler plants evidence to put him behind bars for good. But Kessler's plan backfires, leaving him with only one option: to hunt down Stacy on his own ... before the crazed killer can strike again!

COBRA (1986)

Synopsis: Lt. Cobretti (Sylvester Stallone) is a one-man assault team whose laser-mount submachine gun and pearl-handled Colt .45 spit pure crime-stopping venom! Director George P. Cosmatos (RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD PART II, TOMBSTONE, LEVIATHAN, OF UKNOWN ORIGIN) teams up again with Stallone for this thriller pitting Cobretti against a merciless serial killer.

The trail leads to not one murderer but also an army of psychos bent on slashing their way to a "New Order" – and killing a witness (Brigitte Nielsen) along the way. Fortunately, her protector is Cobra, a man who delivers vigilante justice like no other!

Charles Bronson Returns From the Dead in DEATH KISS - Now Available to Watch On Demand!

UNCORK'D ENTERTAINMENT RELEASES A NEW VIGILANTE ACTION FLICK WITH AN EERILY FAMILIAR LEAD ACTOR!

When I first saw the trailer for DEATH KISS, I thought I was bearing witness to some sort of amazingly effective digital trickery. However, the truth is even crazier because the lead star, Robert Kovacs, is a dead ringer for the late (and very great) Charles Bronson! Regardless of the quality of the movie, I want to see it just because it contains a Bronson-clone!

Synopsis: A vigilante with a mysterious past goes to a crime-infested city and takes the law into his own hands, at the same time protecting a young mother and her child.

Written and directed by Rene Perez (PLAYING WITH DOLLS: HAVOC), and filmed in Northern California, DEATH KISS stars Robert Kovacs (who has gained attention for his uncanny resemblance to a certain well-known action star), Daniel Baldwin (JOHN CARPENTER’S VAMPIRES), Richard Tyson (KINDERGARTEN COP, TWO MOON JUNCTION), Eva Hamilton (horror fest fave RUIN ME), Stormi Maya, Leia Perez, Reese Austyn, and Sam Story.

DEATH KISS is now available to stream instantly at AMAZON and various other On Demand services. It will get a DVD release on December 4th, which will include a trailer, director's commentary, and possibly more supplemental material.
