PARASITE (SPECIAL EDITION - 1982)

Synopsis: In the future, cities are ravaged by atomic fallout and controlled by evil corporations that have developed a mutant pair of flesh-eating parasites. One is feeding inside the man who created it. The other has escaped. Now with the help of a young woman left orphaned in the wasteland (Demi Moore - STRIPTEASE, THE SCARLET LETTER), a scientist (Robert Glaudini - WAVELENGTH) on the run must destroy these horrific creatures before they can reproduce. But the more a parasite feeds, the bigger it becomes. And the more it grows, the hungrier and angrier it gets.

Released to theaters as "The First Futuristic Monster Movie in 3-D," this sick shocker co-stars rocker Cherie Currie (FOXES), drive-in goddess Cheryl 'Rainbeaux' Smith (CAGED HEAT) and Broadway legend Vivian Blaine (GUYS AND DOLLS). NEW FROM SCREAM FACTORY: A TALE OF TWO BILLS AND DEMI MOORE'S JUDGMENT DAY!

I hope you Vault Dwellers won't think less of me because I've never seen either of these new Scream Factory Blu-ray titles. But rest assured that I plan on remedying that! In particular, I'm very curious about BRAIN DEAD because Bill Paxton's presence in a movie always raises the bar! Plus, I distinctly remember the VHS cover for that particular at my local mom & pop video store from back in the day!

BRAIN DEAD (1990)

It envisions nationwide clinics where anyone can lose the hang-ups of an unhappy childhood, a failed romance or a botched career. At Eunice's "New You" outlets, a simple operation will give customers peace of mind. Or it might leave them brain dead.

But when Martin refuses to cooperate with Eunice, he soon finds himself plunged into a surreal existence that intertwines dreams and reality. Has Martin slipped over the edge into madness? Or have corporate profit mongers given him a push, making him the guinea pig in his own experiment? To know the answer is to know true terror!

Director Adam Simon (CARNOSAUR, TV's Salem) brings together an all-star cast including Bill Paxton (ALIENS, NEAR DARK), Bud Cort (HAROLD AND MAUDE) and George Kennedy (COOL HAND LUKE, DEATH SHIP), with a story by TV's The Twilight Zone writer Charles Beaumont.
