A Sea God Awakens in SOFT MATTER - Now Available on DVD and VOD!

GRAFITTI ARTISTS BATTLE AN ANCIENT EVIL IN THIS NEW HORROR-COMEDY FROM FIRST-TIME DIRECTOR JIM HICKOX!

When I'm not desperately trying to keep up with upcoming Blu-ray titles, Horror tees & toys, and other stuff that I think all of you Vault Dwellers would find interesting, I try my level best to help promote independent cinema! Speaking of which, today I'd like to shine a spotlight on the directorial debut of Jim Hickox, namely SOFT MATTER! I'm a sucker for creature features (especially when practical f/x is involved), so I'm definitely planning on checking this one out when I finally have a legit day off!

Synopsis: Two graffiti artists break into an abandoned (and reportedly haunted) research facility in hopes of creating an art installation, but stumble upon a team of demented researchers who are in the process of resurrecting an ancient sea creature! Now the two artists must fight the mad scientists and escape the deadly "Sea God" to avoid becoming the next experiment!

THE GREAT SILENCE Gets a 2K Restoration for Its 50th Anniversary! Own it on DVD & Blu-ray on June 5th!

SERGIO CORBUCCI'S SPAGHETTI WESTERN MASTERPIECE COMES TO DVD & BLU-RAY IN A MUST-OWN 50TH ANNIVERSARY RELEASE!

To be perfectly honest Vault Dwellers, the only Sergio Corbucci films I've ever laid eyes on are DJANGO and NAVAJO JOE. I must correct this injustice, and it seems to me that the most logical step is to watch THE GREAT SILENCE, which debuted in theaters back in 1968! This tale of cruel bounty hunters and a silent gunslinging hero was restored in 2K and features some great special features!

Synopsis: On an unforgiving, snow-swept frontier, a group of bloodthirsty bounty hunters, led by the vicious Loco (Klaus Kinski, NOSFERATU, THE VAMPYRE) prey on a band of persecuted outlaws who have taken to the hills. As the price on each head is collected one-by-one, only a mute gunslinger named Silence (Jean-Louis Trintignant, THE CONFORMIST) stands between the innocent refugees and the greed and corruption that the bounty hunters represent. But, in this harsh, brutal world, the lines between right and wrong aren't always clear and good doesn't always triumph.

Featuring superb photography and a haunting score from maestro Ennio Morricone, director Sergio Corbucci's (DJANGO, COMPANEROS) bleak, brilliant and violent vision of an immoral, honorless west is widely considered to be among the very best and most influential Euro-Westerns ever made.

Guess we won't have to add this film to our WANTED ON BLU-RAY column.

Scream Factory Wants You to Enter the DEVIL'S GATE and Meet THE MIDNIGHT MAN!

SCREAM FACTORY BRINGS TWO MORE IFC MIDNIGHT TITLES TO DVD & BLU-RAY ON JUNE 5TH!

IFC Midnight titles are hit or miss with me, but both of these new additions to Scream Factory's constantly expanding catalog look to be winners. DEVIL'S GATE looks to be a bizarre film featuring alien visitors, and THE MIDNIGHT MAN introduces an interesting new supernatural boogeyman (plus has genre vets Robert Englund and Lin Shaye)! Sign me up for both!

DEVIL'S GATE (2018)

Synopsis: Amanda Schull (12 Monkeys), Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us), Shawn Ashmore (The X-MEN Trilogy) and Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: The Next Generation) star in this unnerving, edge-of-your-seat thriller that "keeps executing its euphoric bacchanal of bizarre plot points" (Paste) until its final twisted reveal.

What unholy force lies locked away in this crumbling, booby-trapped, middle-of-nowhere farmhouse? When a woman and her son mysteriously vanish, FBI agent Daria Francis (Schull) is dispatched to the small town of Devil's Gate, North Dakota to investigate the number one suspect: religious fanatic Jackson Pritchard (Ventimiglia), husband and father of the missing persons.

But when Francis and local deputy Colt Salter (Ashmore) arrive at Pritchard's foreboding property, they discover much more than they bargained for lurking in the basement. Unfolding over the course of 24 delirious hours, this head-spinning sci-fi creature feature hits viewers with a bonkers blitzkrieg of genre-bending twists and turns!

Disc Specs:
Not Rated | Color | 94 minutes | Region A

Extras:

• None.

THE MIDNIGHT MAN (2018)

Synopsis: It was supposed to be just an urban legend... On a snowy night in her grandmother's sprawling mansion, teenager Alex (Gabrielle Haugh) and her best friend Miles (Grayson Gabriel) discover a mysterious box hidden away in the attic. Inside are instructions for "The Midnight Game," an ancient pagan ritual said to summon the player's greatest fears.

It all seems like harmless fun to Alex and Miles — until they unleash the terrifying spirit of THE MIDNIGHT MAN, an unholy force who pits them against their darkest demons and dares them to survive. Horror legends Robert Englund (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET) and Lin Shaye (INSIDIOUS) costar in this terrifying, supernatural game of cat and mouse. Play at your own risk…
