Vault Master's Pick of the Week for 11/01/22!

Ack! Try as I might gang, I just can't seem to keep up with my weekly Stock Your Vault posts like I used to. So once again I'm here to play a little catch-up on notifying ya'll about all the new Blu-ray and 4K releases that came out over the past few weeks!

Back on November 1st, there were numerous new 4K debuts for various classic films! Lionsgate (who seems to really be trying to milk the EVIL DEAD franchise for all its worth) put out a new 4K double feature of EVIL DEAD  & EVIL DEAD 2, Paramount delivered a rockin' new 4K Steelbook of THE RUNNING MAN (easily one of my fave Ah-nuld flicks), and brought both PULP FICTION and TOP GUN:  MAVERICK to 4K and Blu-ray disc!

Sony celebrated the 25th anniversary of Paul Verhoeven's STARSHIP TROOPERS with a new 4K Steelbook, Warner and Universal both unleashed new 4K editions of multiple Christmas favorites (all listed below), and Cinedigm gathered the entire SHARKNADO series into one convenient Blu-ray collection! But despite all of these quality discs, I chose Scream Factory's new PIRANHA 4K COLLECTOR'S EDITION for my "Pick of the Week!" This disc contains all of the bonus features from the prior Blu-ray releases, and boasts an all new 4K restoration from the original camera negative, so this is the best edition of PIRANHA that you can own!

Vault Master's Pick of the Week for 11/08/22!

The following week (November 8th) had a much smaller lineup, but there were a few diamonds in the rough. Full Moon released TRANCERS 5: SUDDEN DETH to Blu-ray for the first time, Arrow Video gave AUDREY ROSE its Blu-ray debut, and just in time for the holidays, Unearthed Films released CHRISTMAS CRUELTY, and Scream Team gifted us with I'M DREAMING OF A WHITE DOOMSDAY!

My "Pick of the Week" for this was the newest addition to Lionsgate's Vestron Video Collector's Series: EARTH GIRLS ARE EASY! The disc is absolutely loaded with extras (which includes a Julie Brown audio commentary, multiple cast & crew interviews, outtakes and deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes footage, trailers, promos, and more!), comes with a cool slipcover, and is relatively cheap (currently around $11 at Amazon at the moment)! You get a lot of bang for your buck with this release and I can't recommend it enough to anyone that's a fan of this bizarro 80s sci-fi/rom-com!
