Scream Factory will warm you up in the DEAD OF WINTER!

KATIE MCGOVERN WILL DO ANYTHING TO BECOME AN ACTRESS.... EVEN IF IT KILLS HER, IN SCREAM FACTORY'S NEW "DEAD OF WINTER" BLU-RAY!

I've honestly never heard of this classic Horror tale before, so now that it is out on Blu-ray, it's high time I remedy that! Anything with Roddy McDowall is okay in my book, and I've always had a little crush on Mary Steenburgen, so this is a definite must-own for me!

Synopsis: Academy Award winner Mary Steenburgen and Roddy McDowall (FRIGHT NIGHT, PLANET OF THE APES) star in the chilling DEAD OF WINTER! When struggling actress Katie (Steenburgen) is offered the opportunity to replace an actress who has suffered an emotional breakdown during a film shoot, she jumps at the chance for the role of a lifetime.

Arriving at the filming location – an isolated mansion in upstate New York – and getting to know her two mysterious benefactors, Dr. Lewis (Jan Rubes, WITNESS), and Mr. Murray (McDowell), she begins to suspect there's more to the story… but she can't quite put her finger on it. As the pieces fall into place and the weather outside turns frightful, Katie's quest for stardom becomes a fight for survival in this twisty thriller from the director of BONNIE AND CLYDE.

Arrow Video Brings Down the HOUSE (Collection) in March!

BRING HOME THE "HOUSE" COLLECTION FROM ARROW VIDEO UK ON MARCH 27TH, OR "HOUSE: TWO STORIES" ON MARCH 21ST!

Egads! I never thought I'd see the day where fans would get complete sets of ANY Horror franchise, let alone the likes of FRIDAY THE 13TH and HALLOWEEN. And now here I am telling you about Arrow Video's upcoming HOUSE: THE COMPLETE COLLECTION, which contains ALL FOUR "HOUSE" FILMS!

HOUSE and HOUSE II: THE SECOND STORY have primarily been available in North America on DVD (originally released by Anchor Bay), and HOUSE III (aka THE HORROR SHOW) was recently brought to Blu-ray by Scream Factory! HOUSE IV has, to my knowledge, never seen a legit release since it's VHS days! So you can imagine how freakin' excited I am right now!

Btw, it's important to note that this release is Region B-locked! So if you don't have a region free player, get one before the end of March! Otherwise, Arrow Video's U.S. label is offering up a nice double feature of HOUSE and HOUSE II for those that aren't completionists! But enough chatter! Scroll down to see all the juicy details of this incredible 8-disc set (4 DVDs & 4 Blu-rays!), and be sure to pre-order it ASAP from ARROW VIDEO'S WEBSITE!

Synopsis for HOUSE (1986): In the original HOUSE, William Katt (Carrie) stars as Roger Cobb, a horror novelist struggling to pen his next bestseller. When he inherits his great aunt’s creaky old mansion, Roger decides that he might just have found the ideal place in which to get some writing done. Unfortunately, the house’s vindictive supernatural residents have other ideas…

Disc Specs:
Rated R | Color | 93 minutes | Region B/2
Video - 1080p Widescreen (1.85.1)
Audio - TBA

HOUSE Extras:
  • Audio commentary with director Steve Miner, producer Sean S. Cunningham, actor William Katt and screenwriter Ethan Wiley.

Synopsis for HOUSE II: THE SECOND STORY (1987): Young Jesse (Arye Gross) moves into an old family mansion where his parents were mysteriously murdered years before. Plans for turning the place into a party pad are soon thwarted by the appearance of Jesse’s mummified Great Grandpa (Royal Dano), his mystical crystal skull, and a zombified cowboy named Slim Razor, who’ll stop at nothing to lay his hands on it!

Disc Specs:
Rated R | Color | 88 minutes | Region B/2
Video - 1080p Widescreen (1.85.1)

Synopsis for HOUSE III: THE HORROR SHOW (1989): Lance Henriksen (ALIENS) stars as a detective who sends a sadistic serial killer to the electric chair, only to find himself stalked by the maniac from beyond the grave. Released six months before SHOCKER, this HOUSE sequel-in-name-only failed to attain the cult status of Wes Craven's oddball Horror film.

Trailer Round-Up: ALIEN - COVENANT, DON'T KILL IT, HUNTING GROUNDS, and PITCHFORK!

Welcome to very first Trailer Round-Up for 2017 Vault Dwellers! This week we'll take a look at the newest chapter in the ALIEN franchise, watch Dolph Lundgren use guns and martial arts to battle supernatural evil, scope out a new indie Bigfoot epic, and take a peek at an all new addition to the slasher film sub-genre! Scroll down and peep these previews of coming attractions!

TRAILER #1: ALIEN - COVENANT
Release Date: May 19, 2017

Ridley Scott returns to his roots with ALIEN: COVENANT, which looks to bridge the original 1979 classic to 2012's controversial PROMETHEUS. Crew members aboard a ship called "The Covenant," discover a habitable planet that seems to be a veritable paradise. However, they eventually come into contact with an alien parasite leading to the eventual evolution of the dreaded Xenomorph! Those that (I'm assuming) make it off the planet must then fight for survival against their deadly stowaway! Here's hoping this movie proves to be a great sci-fi thriller, because I personally wasn't a big fan of PROMETHEUS.

TRAILER #2: DON'T KILL IT
Release Date: March 3, 2017 (DVD & Blu-ray)

Now this looks fun! Dolph Lundgren stars as a demon hunter that arrives in a small Alaskan town to take down a body-hopping,serial killer that is terrorizing the populace. (Wait, he pretty much already did this in THE MINION?) Apparently this movie was given a small release last August, but has since been sitting in direct-to-DVD purgatory. A shame because this looks like it'll be an above average b-actioner!

TRAILER #3: HUNTING GROUNDS
Release Date:  February 7, 2017 (Video on Demand)

A new release from Uncork'd Entertainment follows a father and son who move into a dilapidated shack in the woods after losing everything. Their luck gets even worse when they discover that they are now living smack dab in the middle of angry Sasquatch country. Now they'll have to survive against the primal fury of a Bigfoot and its kin, with a little help from Bill Oberst Jr.!

TRAILER #4: PITCHFORK
Release Date: January 13, 2017 (Video on Demand)

Yet another new release from Unkork'd Entertainment. This film centers on a kid named Hunter that drags a group of his friends to the farm he grew up on. He plans on facing his parents and to drag an old secret kicking and screaming into the daylight. But all hell breaks loose when a pitchfork-wielding psychopath begins knocking people off. Not quite sure what to make of this new slasher villain myself, so I guess I'll have to wait and see him in action next week!

That's it for now Vault Dwellers, but stay tuned for more movie new, trailers, and more here at the News Vault!

This Valentine's Day, get your bad movie lover the ultimate gift: SUPER MARIO BROS. - THE MOVIE (LIMITED EDITION STEELBOOK)!

THE AIN'T NO GAME, IT'S A LIVE-ACTION CLUSTERF*CK! SECOND SIGHT FILMS RELEASES THE INFAMOUS "SUPER MARIO BROS" MOVIE IN A LIMITED EDITION STEELBOOK ON
FEBRUARY 13TH!

Few things were as disappointing to a very young Vault Master than 1993's SUPER MARIO BROS. - THE MOVIE. It's hard to believe that this awful adaptation of a popular video game franchise came out the same year as the ground-breaking JURASSIC PARK!

But you know what? As bad as it is, I kind of love this movie. In some sick, twisted way, I enjoy it, and I simply must have it in my Blu-ray collection! The only problem is that this disc is Region B encoded, so it looks like I'll be snapping up a region free Blu-ray player in the very near future!

Synopsis: Brooklyn plumbers Mario (Bob Hoskins) and Luigi (John Leguizamo) get the shock of their lives when they discover a parallel world populated by the intelligent descendants of dinosaurs! It seems they weren't destroyed by a meteor millions of years ago but hurled into another dimension and now have plans to rule our world. It's up to our unlikely heroes to battle the evil King Koopa (Dennis Hopper) and his Goomba guards, free the beautiful Princess Daisy (Samantha Mathis), and save mankind in this adventure of a lifetime!
