The Mahoning Drive-In has got your weekends covered for the next month!

After spending a weekend at The Mahoning Drive-In during their CAMP BLOOD PART 2 event (coverage coming soon!) I've officially fallen in love with this venue. So it makes me happy to report that they've got a lot of other great weekend programming from now to (at the very least) mid-October. There's something for everyone at The Mahoning, so check out what they're offering up over the next six weeks!

SEPTEMBER 9TH & 10TH - WAYNE'S WEEKEND
Once the sun goes down, check out a double dose of Michael Myers and Dana Carvey with 35mm screenings of WAYNE'S WORLD and WAYNE'S WORLD 2!

SEPTEMBER 16TH & 17TH - ROAD RAGE WEEKEND
At dusk, jump behind the wheel with Steve McQueen and Jan Michael Vincent for a speedy double feature of BULLITT and WHITE LINE FEVER!

SEPTEMBER 23RD - CANNIBAL WEEKEND
One night only! Check out two tasty cannibal flicks from director Ruggero Deodato, namely JUNGLE HOLOCAUST and CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST!

SEPTEMBER 30TH & 31ST - WEEKEND OF TERROR
Enjoy TWO nights of terror with SIX 35mm prints! Night #1 boasts DEATH NERVE, I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE, and DEATH WEEKEND! Night #2 kicks off with the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, and finishes up with BLOOD SPLATTERED BRIDE and I DISMEMBER MAMA!

OCTOBER 7TH & 8TH - ADDAMS FAMILY WEEKEND
Enjoy both surprisingly well-made and fun adaptations of the classic ADDAMS FAMILY television show! Gomez reunites with his brother Fester in THE ADDAMS FAMILY, then prepares to become a dad again in ADDAMS FAMILY VALUES!

OCTOBER 14TH & 15TH - GHOSTBUSTERS WEEKEND
See one of the greatest paranormal comedies of all time in 35mm... and its less-appreciated sequel too! See how the Ghostbusters came together, and saved New York from an ancient Sumerian god, then saved NYC again from a magical madman that lives in a painting!

So if you live anywhere near Lehighton, PA and you're complaining that you have "nothing fun to do," then what are you waiting for?! Visit The Mahoning Drive-In and fall in love with 35mm cinema all over again!

  1. Even if you DON'T live near Lehighton, make the trip. It's worth it. Camping on the lot (in a tent or in your vehicle) is just $10 per carload, making it cheaper than a motel or falling asleep at the wheel. Folks have traveled from as far as Canada to attend shows at the Mahoning, and haven't regretted it.

    1. Yeah, I've met folks from all over the East Coast and even as far South as Virginia at their events. You're totally right, it is worth the trip! :-D

  2. Love The Mahoning Drive-in theater and its crew. Always treated with respect, and they truly are what they represent. The people behind the curtains are very enthusiastic about the world of film and keeping the history of the building alive. It is certainly important to them to have the word continue to spread. This past year they have really contradicted the ignorant belief that drive-in theaters don't get business anymore, they do awesome events and I've never seen it empty on a weekend. They have proven that the strongest continue to thrive, even after 70 years. Also.. If you haven't checked it out already, be sure to check out my awesome and artsy dino-themed mural work on the outside of the building, I also visit often to sell my paintings and T-shirts inside. Be sure to visit and check the place out before the seasons over! Don't miss out!
