SCREAM FACTORY GIVES CARPENTER'S "ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK" SEQUEL A NEW 4K TRANSFER AND BONUS FEATURES!
While not all of John Carpenter's later works were up to snuff with the legendary films he shot in the 70s and 80s, I still have a soft spot for most of them, including the oft-maligned ESCAPE FROM L.A. Is it super cheesy? Absolutely. Is it a far cry from the classic original? Definitely. But dammit, despite the surfing, and the basketballing, and the hang-gliding.... it is still very much a Snake Plissken adventure at its core!
And now it's back in print and better than ever with Scream Factory's new Collector's Edition release, which contains a new 4K transfer of the film, plus numerous NEW cast & crew interviews! To learn more about this disc (which you're going to buy, even if you hate the movie) just continue reading fellow Carpenter fans!
Synopsis: Snake is back! Kurt Russell rejoins filmmakers John Carpenter and Debra Hill to do to Los Angeles what they did to the Big Apple in ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK – with even more futuristic thrills and big action!
Into the 9.6-quaked Los Angeles of 2013 comes Snake Plissken (Russell). His job: wade through L.A.'s ruined landmarks to retrieve a doomsday device. Don't miss the excitement as Snake surfs Wilshire Blvd., shoots hoops at the Coliseum, dive bombs the Happy Kingdom theme park, and mixes it up with a wild assortment of friends and foes including Stacy Keach, Steve Buscemi, Bruce Campbell, Peter Fonda, George Corraface, Cliff Robertson and Pam Grier. ESCAPE FROM L.A. is a "go-for-broke action extravaganza" (Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun Times)!
